I have installed visual studio .net and now i started to write the first few
examples from the 70-315 book by Kalani.
It looks like all server side code that i put between <% %> doesnt process
from an aspx file. Even a page with <%@ Page Language = "c#" Trace="True" %>
doesnt show the trace information.
If i create an .asp file, the server side code between <% %> will process
and display correctly on the page.

When Tracing in ASP.NET, the IIS process (on IIs5.1) is locking on the Trace
file, and I can't read the trace file without restarting the IIS:
Even the following does NOT work (how could I fix this??):
System.Diagnostics.Trace.WriteLine(System.DateTime.Now.ToLongTimeString()+
"--" + dirException.ToString());
System.Diagnostics.Trace.Flush();
((System.Diagnostics.TraceListener)
System.Diagnostics.Trace.Listeners).Close();

Can I view Trace output when launching a win forms application OUTSIDE
of the ide?
e.g. using switches in the configuration file?
Must I declare a trace listener?
Thanks

I've developed a provider in VB which extends all textbox controls on a
webform. The attributes for all the textbox objects are saved in a
HashTable. I'm having a problem figuring out the right way to save the
hashtable's state.
I've listed the code below. I have a number of questions:
1) Is this a reasonable approach to saving the hashtable state?
2) Is there anything inherrently unsecure about saving the state in a
file?
3) The code...

Hi,
I've recently had frustration experience using a certain web service
provided by a known organization. In order to maybe get a response from the
technical they want me to send them the XML trace for the input and output
calls and answers to the web service.
I've downloaded WSE 2.0 tool since i use .net vs 2003, c#. I've desperately
been trying to get a trace with no success.

Hi,
I'm an MFC programmer and know little about .NET programming.
Now, for some reasons, I'm developing an ASP .NET application...
What I need to know is how to output into VS's Output Window like
what MFC's TRACE macro does (during debugging).
Could you please share your knowledge with me?
Thanks in advance.

I have an ASP application which uses a COM object I developed. That object
uses OutputDebugString as well as writing to a text file to trace internal
activity.
If I test my ASP page from Visual Studio, the trace file is written to and
trace output appears in the debugger.
HOWEVER, if I run my ASP file directly after installing it to my IIS, while
everything works, I don't get any text file written. I played around with
the calls...

When asp.net trace is enabled in web.config,
http://mywebserver/myApp/trace.axd list parameter/value pairs for each
control in the HTML Form, ok (this is basic asp.net information and work for
all asp.net applications independently how the asp.net application is
programmed)
I would like..to save this information to a file o database (because
trace.axd information is not persistente, ..is lost when application pool is
recycled)

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
