Recommend a book for ASP.net class?

Can someone suggest possible books for a 9-week (2 semester unit) course in
ASP.net. The audience would be someone who doesn't know anything about
asp.net

ASP.NET Unleashed.

This book is covered using the VB.NET language, and is great for beginners,
yet has enough to satisfy seasoned vets :)

Hello, I am a seasoned Classic ASP programmer who is interested in learning ASP.NET. I bought a book (Que's Special Edition Using ASP.NET) which is complete rubbish, and would like a recommendation of something better. I have a very basic idea of how ASP.NET works having spent a couple of days playing with it, but it's still a large amount of fog with only a little clarity. I would like something that explains what's going on

I have several years experience in VB and VBA. I now need to get up to speed on VB.NET and need a book. I don't think I will need a beginners book but one that aims at people with people with previous programming experience, in particular perhaps VB. Can you recommend one?

Greetings. I'm a VB6 programmer that has just installed the VB.Net. I would like to learn VB.NET as quickly as possible. Already I'm finding simple issues such as the Print object not supported in VB.Net. Wish to port my programs over to VB.Net before I continue on them. Was wondering what book most of you had found to be really good at taking a VB6 programmer into the NET world.

I've learned data structrue in C++ but I am now learning to write programs in C. I am used to considering ADT as class but C is not a object-oriented language. Problems rise up in my c-plus-plus-style program in C. So, please tell me which data structure book do you use or which book do you recommend? (Assume that I have learned C language syntax well)

Can anyone recommend a good online guide to using objects in javascript? The book I bought (DHTML Utopia) suggests using objects to keep the code clean and stop namespace clashes between different parts of the code, but as far as I can see, the way objects work in javascript is quite awkward. I had it working the way they suggest in the book, and it was going OK until I wanted to call one object method from another - I couldn't find a...

Hi, I am looking for recommendations on a book or books on web application design. It does have to be any language specific or platform. Preferably neither as Im round the other side of the planet from my PC and hoping to read up on somethig more along the lines of design principal rather than implementation. I have a firm understanding of client side technologies, server side and storage (db, xml) technologies but want to create...

I am starting a new job that involves programming in c# and using ASP.net. I have some experience with c# but have little knowledge of ASP, I would like to get a book about each so I can get some reading done before I start. I would describe myself as a intermediate c# programmer, can anyone recommend books on both technologies ?, any help appreciated.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
