Error BC31019: Unable to write to output file '<filename>'

Folks,

I am unable to execute any ASPX files on a Windows 2000 Server, running as a Primary Domain Controller.

The error is "Error BC31019: Unable to write to output file '<filename>'"

By auditing access to the directory into which files are being written, I can confirm that the IUSR_<machineNa me> account is able to create the all the required sub-directories and files EXCEPT the DLL file.

For example, trying to execute a simply ASPX file resutls in this error:

Compiler Error Message: BC31019: Unable to write to output file 'C:\WINNT\Micro soft.NET\Framew ork\v1.1.4322\T emporary ASP.NET Files\nimn\b542 5b4b\1f833bfe\q ewp9gin.dll': The directory name is invalid.

In fact, the directory exists and is valid. If files are deleted, they are recreated. Only the DLL file cannot be created.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Joel Finkel

Correction:

IWAM_<machineNa me> is creating the files, not IUSR_<machineNa me>, as I mis-stated.

Hi, when extending a build in class, what does the constructor __init__(...) have to return? and how does the constructor call its base-class construtor? (or is this done automatically?) I want to derive from "file" to create a class that reads record from a binary file:

Hi, I am hoping somebody can help me. Normally to use the file upload feature in an html page, users must either select or type in a file to upload then click on button or link to initiate the upload. I was wondering if it were possible to put a default file name in? Thanks

Hi list, AFAIK using file( ) to open a file is deprecated in favor of open( ) and while grepping through the stdlib I noticed a couple of occurences of file( ) in the latest revision. I made a patch for getting rid of them; it passes all the tests. Although the change is almost trivial, since this is my first patch maybe it's better if someone knowledgeable takes a look at it before submitting it to SF. Daniel

Hi Guys, I've been trawling through this group for an answer to this but can't find one that works. I have an Access 97 db sitting on a Novell server that is accessed via a front end with linked tables. There are several users that need access to this db but some get the "Couldn't us <filenameFile already in use" error. Every user has the same level of access rights to the server and their accounts are all identical but some still...

This happens regardless of the Version of Access. Users accessing a database on a shared folder get the "Couldn't use <filename>; file already in use." Everyone without exception has access to the folder. The folder is NOT read-only. The solution I have found is to move ALL files to another folder, DELETE the original folder and RENAME the new folder with the exact name of the old folder. Problem solved. Everyone accesss the DB. ...

I have been having some trouble getting my XSL style sheet to parse correctly. I have some XML outputted from an SQL-Server, that I then need to turn into multiple HTML files. This I have done with moderate success using Saxon and <xsl:result-document>, but Saxon is throwing an error and I don't know how to resolve it. Maybe someone can offer some advice? This is a long question, for which I apologise... OS= Windows XP Pro, Saxon=8.8 XML...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
