Greetings All!
I'm hoping some of you .NET gurus can help me out. I've search google but I
cannot find the answers I'm looking for.
I have a small business client that would like to replace their current
reservation system which is (badly) written in Access97. Their requirements
are:
- subset to be web-enabled at some point in the future
- support 5 - 10 networked users

With the body tag calling out 'window onload', a function with a
'window.open' fails at the 'window.open' line. If I cut out the body
tag, the function executes as normal.
At first I thought it was the entire function failing, but I tested
with alerts and found that it was only the 'window.open' that fails to
execute.
The function is being called by a link, and I suspected some problem
with the body alink/vlink but after cutting that out...

When I apply IIS Lockdown to SBS 2000 + ASP.NET 1.1 I run into NTFS
persmission issues with the IWAM_computername user account, i.e. csc.exe.
I tried using the Dynamic Web template and the SBS template with IIS
lockdown but both had the same issues. I
Is there an existing template to make this work?
I understand from Q315158 that since SBS 2000 is a domain controller, .NET
can not create the local ASPNET account since local...

I've run iis lockdown and debugging stopped working. I've added the debug
verb to urlscan. The error message is asp.net and atl server cannot be
debugged. I haven't seen this one before. If I reverse the tool, debugging
works fine. I'm choosing asp dynamic server and accepting all the defaults
in the tool. I'm sure I'm missing something minor.

I've read some of the posts on this subject but let me add this little twist
to the subject's question- I can appreciate the utility of doing screen caps
off of other websites with PSP or PhotoShop to get some of my website's
graphical elements, but really I'd rather mostly generate my own graphics.
Are these tools (I haven't looked at them yet) useful for authorship of
original work?
So far (this is kind of sad, really) to get exactly...

I inherited a website to update and maintain and it appears that many extra
files have accumulated on the server over the last few years. I would like
to clean them up, but the idea of manually going thru all of the pages,
listing the links and then comparing the list to the file directory seems
very time consuming.
Can anyone point me to a tool or method to streamline this process? Even
something that just lists the links included in...

Folks:
Thank you all for your replies. I'll reply briefly to each key point:
Thanks! You are probably correct. I wanted to be aware of other options,
that's all. Part of what got me in this mess is not finding out enough
before I jumped in.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
