tool to list links

BT
I inherited a website to update and maintain and it appears that many extra
files have accumulated on the server over the last few years. I would like
to clean them up, but the idea of manually going thru all of the pages,
listing the links and then comparing the list to the file directory seems
very time consuming.

Can anyone point me to a tool or method to streamline this process? Even
something that just lists the links included in my pages would help.

By the way, I am a fairly novice HTML user and I often just use notepad to
make text updates and I also use FIRST PAGE 2000 for some web work. I have
used Front Page several years ago, but not since.

thanks in advance

If you're using a Mozilla-based browser (e.g., Firefox, SeaMonkey), do
the following:

* Open a page.

* On the menu bar, select [View Page Info]

* On the Page Info window, select the Links tab to see what links that
page references.

* On the Page Info window, select the Media tab to see what images,
icons, etc that page references.

These displays can be selected, copied, and pasted into a text editor
window (e.g., Notepad); only the URLs are copied and pasted. From this,
you can build an index of referenced files.

Individual entries under the Media tab can be selected to view the
images in the same window.

When we sat down to design a new generation of J2EE-based reporting tools, we naturally assumed that somewhere along the line we’d have to make compromises to satisfy both the technical staff and the report users... It turns out compromise wasn’t necessary. Windward Reports is here, and both users and IT types are telling us that it delivers all their top Wish List items, and then some. That pleases us, although in all humility, we must...

Hi, Hopefully this is not too much offtopic. I'm working on a FAQ. I want to make two versions of it, plain text and HTML. I'm looking for a tool that will make a plain text doc out of the HTML doc. The HTML version doesn't have anything fancy, just internal links. So the tool must be able to delete internal links and anchors from the HTML version, but leave external links in simplified form. That is, the HTML version would say <a...

Hi, I am looking for a tool that will map a given web-site and list out all the files/folders under that website. For example, if I want to map www.voicenow.com, the tool should list all the sub-folders, and the files within each folder at www.voicenow.com. More importantly, I should be able to use this tool programatically (even if the tool generates an xml document of the site map, that will be useful) from c#. Please let me know of...

I'm new to .Net and need to create a generic (free) way to update lookup tables in SQL Server (using C#) in ASP.Net pages. I found an article at: http://www.dotnetjunkies.com/Tutorial/0C968B48-44E8-4637-9F19-8490B0429881.dcik which explains how this can be done but does not supply enough example code my newbie self to go through in detail where I understand it. So, does anyone have some example code I could use to accomplish this or know...

I recently saw an example of Conceptual/Logical/Physical documentation done as web pages, with links to related items. There might be a page devoted to an application screen, which would include a screen shot and then links to other pages for, say, Conceptual docs, library routines, table definitions, etc. Right now we have a mass of word docs and visio files that can get pretty overwhelming in a large project. Has anybody seen a...

In the past I have not done enough to make my pages accessible, but want to make a better effort now. I thought it would be fairly easy, but so far I have only succeeded in producing a major headache. I started out with a color scheme (based on client logo and their current print material), and for most of my text black is fine. I want to add a css navigation bar and have discovered that using trial

Hallo. A good friend of me develops web suites, for example his own at: www.augenpunkte.de. As you can see there my friend is blind and also he uses a Braille-line to develop these projects. For example his own suite at. But he has a big problem to find out the right colours for his pages and so he asked me for a big list with some colour schemes. A hex-colour-value for each part of a page (Text, Links e.g.) So I have had a look at some...

Hello all, I developed a tool a year or so ago for adding your own spell-checker to an access application. This is mainly for those using the runtime, as you can't distribute the spell-checker ability. After many complaints from my runtime customers, I decided to develop my own, which was a good challenge. I just wanted to give something back to the board / fellow access developers and offer the source for free. This board has been,...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
