Web Hosting - what do you suggest?

Hi all,
I'm italian and I'm planning to manage a web site using a web hosting in the
US.
Do you have some suggestions?

I'm looking for asp, asp.net and ms sql support or in alternative php and
mysql, with 24/24 support

Thanks in advance

Doesn't come with SQL/MySQL, but I personally reccomend Inspiratech (www.inspiratech.uk.com). Been using them for years and love them :o)

If you must have SQL/MySQL, try looking here;

www.webhostingtalk.com

and

www.echoecho.com

I went with WebHost4Life and have been VERY happy so far, especially with
the price. For $10/month you get MS-SQL, ASP.NET and lots of other goodies.

If you go with em, I'd appreciate the referral, if you dont want to use it
that's kewl too, doesnt hurt to ask though.

www.orcsweb.com has ASP, ASP.Net and SQL Server. They have the fastest and
most available support staff I have ever worked with.

I'll second Orcsweb if you're looking for support. WebHost4Life is
great value but support isn't the fastest on the planet, or the most
accurate.

To my surprise last month, my dad wanted to start dabbling in PHP and MySQL or pgSQL. I've been helping him out a bit. He's into athletic medicine and wants to have a website to help athletes and physical therapists improve performance. His current web hosting provider -- Earthlink -- doesn't give him anything but PHP 3.0.x. I want to get him at least on PHP 4.2.x (or better) along with either MySQL or PostgreSQL (pgSQL) support. I've...

I have been using a large hosting company and until recently, when I wanted to combine domain names and they will not let me out of a contract with two months remaining to combine accounts. they are losing $11 and will not budge. At http://www.asp.net/Customers/DisplayByIndustry.aspx?IndustryId=27, there are hundred of ASP.NET hosting companies. Can you suggest one or a couple of good ones? I'm looking to build a small Web site (for fun only). Might not even need a database, but if there is SQL Server, that would be great. The cheaper, the better. Free would be great, but I do want FTP access. Being able to upload from VS.NET would be great too, but not...

I need hosting for quite a few sites, with just IP addresses (I don't need to register domain names), for testing some ASP.NET applications remotely. Anyone have a suggestion on a decent hosting company offering cheap pricing (e.g. $10 or $15 / month, maybe $20) and reasonable service?

I recently signed up for shared web hosting with a commercial hosting service (GoDaddy.com) and was awed to discover that although a generous SQL Server database package is included, there is not an easy way to connect ASP.NET web applications to database servers running outside of the host's systems. Indeed, many ports are blocked: I think the only open ports are 80 and 25. Surely there is some way around this that I could manage in...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
