If you are using SQL Server you can use the upsizing wizard to move the data. This can be found under Tools - Database Utilities. You will have to be careful and check the data afterwards for primary keys, foreign keys etc.

Once you have your data sorted our in SQL Server the simplist way to connect it is using an odbc connection.

I've been clicking around Access 2007 Beta 2 and can't see the custom menu bar designer. Is it in the beta? Maybe I'm blind. The question that comes to mind is: Will custom menu bars be the same height as they were in previous versions or will they be the "ribbon" style that takes up a huge portion of the screen? Also when I use Access...

I'm doing a quick 2 step process to access a database, as outlined here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/tw738475.aspx I successfully point to my Access 2007 .MDB file. But in the configure data source dialog, when I go to 'Query Builder' - I immediately get an "Object Reference not set to an instance of an object". Haven't...

A client of mine likes some of the new bells and whistles in Access 2007, and is thinking about converting our A03 format MDB to an A07 format file. However, while some of the users have A07, many do not, and it's not clear when they would get it. His thought was to use the upcoming Access 2007 runtime to allow the users who are still running...

We unfortunately have multiple versions of Access running, including Access 97. My system was recently upgraded to Office 2007. Now, whenever I open an Access 97 db and subsequently open another db using Access 2007, the software goes through a two minute configuration/ setup routine. The installing tech acknowledged this issue and said...

Tried compacting multiple dbs with Jetcomp(V4.0 1997-98). Only one out of twelve compacted correctly. Used the built-in 'Compact and Repair' facility and all compacted correctly. Is Jetcomp no longer valid for use with Access 2007? Will an updated version be released?

It has two fields - RibbonName and RibbonXML. And they contain "HideTheRibbon" and "<CustomUI xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2006/01/CustomUI"> <Ribbon startFromScratch="true"/></CustomUI>" I attached this to the "ribbon and toolbar options" in Access Options. But when I use this Database I still get the Home Ribbon. What am...

Hi !! I'm about to develop a new project for a client. Should I go about it in Access 2003 or 2007 ? Purchasing it either for me or for my client is not a major consideration here ... what I'd like to know is the stability, speed & ease of use of both the products. I believe Access 2007 has a new file format too and that it may be...

I created a database using full blown access 2007. I have put it out for users to grab and test using Runtime Access 2007. They have entered data and now I need to go back into a table and change a setting for a different test. I am opening the same database using full blown MS 2007 and when I do, it appears I have no tables or queries. I have...
