If you are using SQL Server you can use the upsizing wizard to move the data. This can be found under Tools - Database Utilities. You will have to be careful and check the data afterwards for primary keys, foreign keys etc.

Once you have your data sorted our in SQL Server the simplist way to connect it is using an odbc connection.

I've been clicking around Access 2007 Beta 2 and can't see the custom menu bar designer. Is it in the beta? Maybe I'm blind. The question that comes to mind is: Will custom menu bars be the same height as they were in previous versions or will they be the "ribbon" style that takes up a huge portion of the screen? Also when I use Access 2007 to open an Access 2003 database that has custom menu bars they display as they did in Access...

I'm doing a quick 2 step process to access a database, as outlined here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/tw738475.aspx I successfully point to my Access 2007 .MDB file. But in the configure data source dialog, when I go to 'Query Builder' - I immediately get an "Object Reference not set to an instance of an object". Haven't written a single piece of code yet, and I've got the framework (v2.0) installed.

A client of mine likes some of the new bells and whistles in Access 2007, and is thinking about converting our A03 format MDB to an A07 format file. However, while some of the users have A07, many do not, and it's not clear when they would get it. His thought was to use the upcoming Access 2007 runtime to allow the users who are still running Office 2003 to be able to run the database. While I use multiple versions of Access on my...

We unfortunately have multiple versions of Access running, including Access 97. My system was recently upgraded to Office 2007. Now, whenever I open an Access 97 db and subsequently open another db using Access 2007, the software goes through a two minute configuration/ setup routine. The installing tech acknowledged this issue and said they had a registry hack that prevented the problem with Access 97 and Access 2000 but as of yet...

Tried compacting multiple dbs with Jetcomp(V4.0 1997-98). Only one out of twelve compacted correctly. Used the built-in 'Compact and Repair' facility and all compacted correctly. Is Jetcomp no longer valid for use with Access 2007? Will an updated version be released?

It has two fields - RibbonName and RibbonXML. And they contain "HideTheRibbon" and "<CustomUI xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2006/01/CustomUI"> <Ribbon startFromScratch="true"/></CustomUI>" I attached this to the "ribbon and toolbar options" in Access Options. But when I use this Database I still get the Home Ribbon. What am I doing wrong?

Hi !! I'm about to develop a new project for a client. Should I go about it in Access 2003 or 2007 ? Purchasing it either for me or for my client is not a major consideration here ... what I'd like to know is the stability, speed & ease of use of both the products. I believe Access 2007 has a new file format too and that it may be slower.

I created a database using full blown access 2007. I have put it out for users to grab and test using Runtime Access 2007. They have entered data and now I need to go back into a table and change a setting for a different test. I am opening the same database using full blown MS 2007 and when I do, it appears I have no tables or queries. I have gone to the navigation pane, navigation options and set the property to show hidden objects but the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
