subdatasheets with linked tables broken? Access 2003

Since upgrading to Access 2003 from 2002, I've noticed that all of the linked table subdatasheets I had set up in 2002 with simple relationships are now not working in 2003. Since the majority of what I do with Access is simple inserts and edits, having to bounce around multiple tables and "find" the rows based on the previous table's PK in a list of thousands, makes 2003 completely unusable. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

You say you had simple relationships set up. Did they have cascading updates and deletes. Can you see these relationships in the relationship window.

Yes, I could see the relationships in that view.

I've found my own solution: create a query on the first linked table, just pulling * and then when I open that query it will then allow me to insert -> subdata sheet and choose a linked table. When I was previously opening the linked table insert -> subdatasheet was greyed out and not available.

If you open the query in design view and try to change the subdatasheet via properties, again it will only allow you to assign other queries or access tables.

Again, to add subdatasheets to linked tables, build a select query on the "top" linked table, select * to return, open it to display the returned rows, click insert -> subdatasheet and choose the linked table you want. If the relationship has been created, the + sign will appear on the "top" table rows.
