Access 2010 linked to SQL Server View won't allow additions

I have a database that I have created the FE in Access and the BE in SQL Server. All of my tables in SQL server are working fine. However, I have also linked to some Views SQL server and those don't allow me to add new records. Is there something in the connection between Access and SQL Server that blocks new records be written to Views? I can run an INSERT query in SSMS just fine to the view. I'm using a DSN-Less connection, if that makes any difference.

Evidently, the DSN-Less connection has something to do with it. I just created a system DSN and linked to the view and I can add records to that "table". Is there something that I need to put into my connection string or a property of the table that I need to set to allow my DSN-Less connection to work for views?

It was the index that I needed to create. Once I created a unique index on the table's PK field, I was able to add new records.

Has any one tried real time access via Linked server to...

Hi all, In an Access 2003 db I have a linked table to a SQL Server view. This view is based on a SQL Server table with a column defined as NUMERIC(4,2). Have a question. I have a table e.g. "Table1" on DB1 that is going to be archived once a month to "ArchiveTable1" on DB2, both on the one server. Will have to change SPs that were accessing table1 to now access ArchiveTable1. This is no problem as I can just do the following: select * from db2.dbo.ArchiveTable1. Some time in the future this...

Hello, In Access 2010/2007, how do you prevent users from flipping into design view from the ribbon? I do not want to hide the entire ribbon (DoCmd.ShowToolbar "Ribbon", acToolbarNo) or even the "View" part of the "Home" tab because users like being able to flip between Form View and Datasheet View in the forms. It turns out that on our...
