Cannot Open Report unless I change default printer

AP
I have had this before in the past and just ignored it, but now I need
a solution. Basically, using ACC2003 if I have one particular printer
as the default, the reports will not open in design, preview, or print
mode. If I change my default printer to some other printer it will
work. Interesting point also is that I can print to the original
printer as long as it is not set as the default?

All, I have exhaustingly been looking through the newsgroups in search of a way to systemically output an Access 97 report to a pdf file using the full version of Adobe Acrobat. I want the user to be able to click a button and have the Access report saved as a pdf in a directory specified by me the programmer. I have seen a posting by John Baker promoting a web-sight that has an mde that one can reference in any database but after 30...

When I try to create a report in Access 2003, the error message "the wizard is unable to create your report" comes up. My printer is a network printer and no local printer is attached. I can get round this by specifying Adobe Acrobat Distiller as my default local printer, but this will be irritating for users who want to use a copy of the database. (Access will not print to the network printer at all, ie you can't even print a query). ...

Could someone please help? I am using the 'defaultprt.zip' tool provided by Ken Getz to change the default printer via VBA code (code below). My problem is that once the default printer has been changed, Access 2003 still directs the report to the former default printer. Access 2003 picks up the new default printer setting only after I have reopened the application. I have checked the default printer setting in the OS control panel and the...

Hello- I have a contol button on a form that I want to code to open a report (rptReviews), then display the print dialogue box so that users can select a printer. This report needs color, but most of my team has their default printer set to our departments monochrome printer. Thus i wanted to give them the option to run it to our color printer during the print process. Alternately, is there a way to code a button to drive a report to

I have reports that are designed to where it doesn't matter if the region using the program uses a letter sized paper or A4 sized. I have the width to be just slightly over 7", so the reports work with either paper size. However, in Access 2007, one of my testers in Australia is now getting a beep from his printer telling him to change paper to letter sized. The reports worked fine in Access 97, but in 2007, he's getting the printer...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
