MDE suddenly not working on Windows Vista PC

A pc that was created in MS office xp's Access 2002 has been working fine on
a windows vista Ultimate pc that has MS OFfice Vista Edition. But all of
the sudden it stopped working and gives this error, when a button is
pressed. The button launches procedures to download and parse XML files.

This error occurs when an event has failed to run because Microsoft Office
Access cannot evaluate the location of the logic for the event. For example,
if the OnOpen property of a form is set to =[Field], this error occurs
because Access expects a macro or event name to run when the event is fired.

But on the xp machine where the machine is made compiled and saved as mde,
the mde has no errors and compiles fine. I tried to compact and repair, but
still doesnt work. I should note that the app works fine on XP machines and
was working on the Vista machine until recently. No changes made to the pc
other than the automatic updates, so I am assuming a recent update from
microsoft is causing this.
maybe something to do with the xml driver. the mde is using msxml version
4.

Can anybody help?

Thanks

You might have to move an .mdb copy to the machine giving you trouble, so
that you can open a module and check the tools, references section. If you
find any references that are missing, that will point to the problem.

Just an idea, not sure if this is it at all...

Do you have ADOX as a library? Vista includes a newer version of ADOX
which requires a new build on Vista to use it. The library references
say it's not broken, but it is. The result is the use of VBA
functions, etc. in your queries fail.

Due to an earlier posting I read in this newsgroup regarding Office 2007 beta, I downloaded it. After I DL'd it, I got an invitation from MS to get WinVista. I am now wondering if, since both are betas, it is best to buy a new computer? My current computer setup is a Pentium 4, 1 gig memory, 2.66 ghz, 60-80 gig disk drive. MS's requirements for a WinVista computer is A modern processor (800mz)

The opening movie is suddenly blurry in Rise of Nations. I think I've either accidently deleted a Windows System filter or one or more video filters has become corrupted. I've checked and I suddenly cannot see "avi" or "mpg" video files either - in Nero. But WMP still plays these fine. What's up?

I recently had to rebuild an instance of SQL Server. When it was restarted, one of the client apps (ASP.NET) could not connect - the user could see the login screen, but it kept throwing exceptions. Turns out that the database had been restored with a different name, so the connection string (stored in web.config) was amended. At that point the system failed to display even the login screen - it failed with the error message shown at...

Hi, I have to develop an application which must run on .net 2.0 on a Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista Business OS. Is .net 2.0 supported at Windows Vista? If I see the supported OS at the download page of microsoft, Windows Vista is not in the list. Are there risks for strange behavior under Windows Vista? TIA, Frank

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
