It's because you have your Security Level set to either High or Medium. You can change it to Low to avoid this prompt if you so desire, but there are potential risks. See for yourself at:
  1. Tools
  2. Macro
  3. Security
  4. Security Level Tab

Hi Before anyone blasts me for posting a question that the solution clearly appears in the help file, please read on. I keep getting the Security Warning : Opening.. x database may not be safe, because it could contain harmful code, etc. We all know the warning. Help says : Go to Tools menu, Macro and click on Security. (Running Office 2003). One slight problem, I don't have the 'security' option as listed.

Last week I posted as follows, but no-one responded: " I have security level 'Medium' and expression blocking set. If I set security to 'Low', I get a dialog box which asks if I want to enable expression evaluation. Irrespective of whether I respond 'Yes' or 'No', the security level now shows as 'Low' and databases open thereafter without any warning dialogs. The only operational difference is that I'm prompted to restart Access if I...

Windows 2000 Pro and Office 2003 all updated with the latest (?) security patches. On opening I get a Security Warning, Then a dialog box about Microsoft Jet 4 and the need to update to that (done) Then yet another security warning... Enough already. How can one tell Access that "this" DB is fine the...

An 'unknown publisher' security warning appears everytime I open an ms access .mdb file, if I just click 'open' I am able to open the file, however the desktop shortcuts to this file simply won't work and I have to open the database by opening ms access first then navigating to the .mdb file. Can anyone help? I run ms access 2003.

Using Access 2000 I am sharing a DB over a network of 3x PC’s, this is a newly created DB with just one new table and no data. I have had problems with it not opening from several PC’s over the network, sometime with a message saying it cant find the file, other times just not opening, sometimes I get a warning message: “Security Warning, Unknown Publisher, Open Yes No”. If I create the same new DB using a different PC (still Access 2000...

How do I get rid of the generic Windows "Open File - Security Warning" that appears when I try to open a database that resides on another PC on my home network? This is not the annoying macro security warning - I have my macro security set to low. The warning I am describing only appears when a database on another machine is opened.

Hi I've seen details on bypassing macro security with a bat file but has any one incorporated this with Tony Toews FE Updater? If so, I'd appreciate some guidance. As both open the database I'm not sure how/if this will work. Thanks

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
