Setting Macro Security using VBA

Since I have converted my Access97 application to Access2003, I am
getting an warning while opening the Access Database. When Macro
Security level set to Low, its working fine.

Now, I want to set Macro Security using VBA and not directly. As this
application is in use at 100s of place. Can anyone suggest me how can I
set Macro Security level to Low using VBA.

Thanks
Sun

It would be pretty stupid if dangerous code also had the ability to turn off
the warnings for dangerous code wouldn't it?

You can use a vbscript to open your app in a session with macro security set
to low, but that would mean creating a shortcut to the script for all of
your users.

Search these groups for posts from TC. He explains how to do this all the
time.

Here's a proposed Q&A for the FAQ based on a couple recent threads. Appropriate comments appreciated X.Y: Why doesn't Python have macros like in Lisp or Scheme? Before answering that, a clarification on what 'macro' means. A Lisp macro is a way of modifying code when that code is first defined. It can rearrange the structure of the code, and add and remove parts of it. Unlike C's #define macro language, Lisp macros understand the...

Hi all, when I moved from Windows to Linux I choosed Python as my language of reference and as GUI, Qt (not much investigated up to now). Till now I didn't regret but one thing: Python can't act as a macro language and so you are obliged to revert to Windows to use programs like AutoIt, Macro Express or Macro Scheduler or even the macro features of Office with VBA. Claudio Grondi expressed almost the same ideas in answering to a post:...

Last week I posted as follows, but no-one responded: " I have security level 'Medium' and expression blocking set. If I set security to 'Low', I get a dialog box which asks if I want to enable expression evaluation. Irrespective of whether I respond 'Yes' or 'No', the security level now shows as 'Low' and databases open thereafter without any warning dialogs. The only operational difference is that I'm prompted to restart Access if I...

One of my customers is running an Access 2003 application. They have the Macro Security Level set to Low. When the .mde app is executed directly from the C: drive on their server, they get into the application just fine. When they execute the app from a mapped network drive (a link to the app on the C: drive), they get get the Security Warning and have to click on Open to get into the application. I have seen this same app run at...

Hi, I'm using PHP 4.4.4 on Apache 2 on Fedora Core 5. PHP was installed using Apache's apxs and the php library was installed to /usr/local/php. However, when I set my "error_reporting" setting to be "E_ALL", notices are still not getting reported. The perms on my file are 664, with owner root and group root. The php.ini file is located at /usr/local/lib/php/php.ini. Any ideas why the setting does not seem to be having an effect? ...

I am designing a site that requires AnonymousID. I set my web.config to allow this using <anonymousIdentification enable="true".../as recommended in the documentation. To verify the settings I use the following code in global.asax and stop the execution using debug to inspect the settings. Configuration configuration = WebConfigurationManager.OpenWebConfiguration("/SessionManager");

Hi I've seen details on bypassing macro security with a bat file but has any one incorporated this with Tony Toews FE Updater? If so, I'd appreciate some guidance. As both open the database I'm not sure how/if this will work. Thanks

Is there a way to use VBA check to see the macro security setting? I want to use VBA check to see is the "Trust access to VB project" setting is on? Such as it return "True" when set to Trust access to VB project, and "False" when it is not. That setting is under macro->security->trusted Publishers->trust access to visual basic project. Thanks

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
