Printing a report with subreports

1 New Member
Hello,
I have a MS Access 2000 question.
I created a main report that consists of different subreports in the Detail section. I have a couple of queries that create tables for certain cities (the user enters the City ID). Everything works fine until the user enters an ID for a city that we don't have information for in all tables and then wants to see the report.

When printing the separate subreports - the report still shows up just with an empty line below the table heading (which is the report header) - which is good.
When printing (also preview) my main report only the subreports that have records for that city show up and the subreport with no entry for this particular city will not show up at all.
I would like to see the table heading (report heading) in my main report - if nothing else as a placeholder on my report (in stead of big white spots).

It would be great if somebody can give me a hint how to solve this problem.

Thanks,
Martina

Put the headings for the subreports on the main report and just keep the details in the subreports. That way the headings will always print.

I can't move a multi-page report to the last record unless I keep the popup form (that defined it's subreports) open. DoCmd.OpenReport "rptStandard", acViewNormal DoCmd.Close acForm, "frmReportOptions" <== popup form This is the error I get when I try to move to the last page of the report *after* closing the popup: "This expression is typed incorectly, or is too complex to be evaluate...."

I have a report with 2 sub reports on it. The report is an invoice and the sub reports are dropping data onto the invoice. This worked fine if generating 1 invoice at a time. I am trying to create a run of invoices. I would like the appropriate data for each custid from each sub report to be on the same page. The nearest I can get is 2 pages for each customer Any Thoughts TIA David B Hexham UK

Hi, I've got a sub report that has been set to print down then across as the data is sorted in date order. This sub report displays and prints as per my design when dealt with as a stand alone report. However, when the sub report is embedded into the main report, the sub report will only show and print data when the main reports Can Grow controls for the detail section are set to Yes. I've tried all settings I can think of for the...

ACCESS 2k I need to design a report based on a rota system for staff at various shops. The data is effectively stored in a single table, along the lines of: Initials (e.g. BH, FG, RM etc.) Day (e.g. Monday, Tuesday etc.) Shop (e.g. Shop1, Shop2 etc.) StartTime (e.g. 8, 13 etc.)

I have a report that prints daily. The report needs to print whether or not there are records available. I read in an old post on this group that putting an unbound text box in the report footer, with the following code in the OnNoData event would work like a charm -- Private Sub Report_NoData(Cancel As Integer) Dim NoInboundLoads As TextBox Me!NoInboundLoads = "No inbound loads scheduled for today." Cancel = False End Sub

Hello, I have 7 different crystal reports that need to be collated. Since I want to end up with a page of each (which all together make a single report), I created a blank main report and then added the 7 as subreports so they can print one after the other. I'm supposed to be printing them from a VB.Net 2003 application and I will be passing 2 parameters (start and end dates). These reports are huge (over 1000+ pages each). My original...

Hello, I have a main report with a Record Source, a DateToday table, that has the current Month and Year. I have about 60 queries, each pulling different data via ODBC, that I am creating subreports that go on the main report. The problem is that when I run the report the data shows on the screen but not the print preview. I am aware that the main report is not linked to the subreports because of the Link Master, Child Fields issue....

Hi all! I have one Main Report with 6 subreports. The titles for these subreports are all in the detail section of the Main report above each subreport and the headers of each subreport is in the report header section. My question: When viewing or printing the report, is there a way to get the headers to also print on the next page if the subreport spans two pages? Thanks in advance!

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
