Access installation package

Using Access 2003 front-end with SQL Server 2005 backend.

I had used an installation packager in Office 2000 Enterprise, which
allows
one to create an installation package for Access applications that can
be
installed on systems without Microsoft Access.

New we have only Office 2003 Professional, which does not have this
facility.

Short of buying the Enterprise version, does anyone know of a way - or
any other
packager - to package an Access application for installation to
systems without
Microsoft Access?

Thanks,
Bubbles

I read an article by, by Mike Groh, in Access-VB-SQL Advisor Magazine, Week 37 that concerns me quite a bit on distributing Access Applications commercially. First I need to describe a "commercial version" of my application that I hope to distribute after completing all the beta testing: A. It was developed using MS AccessXP Pro (developers edition), B. It has a front end MyApplication.mdb and a MyAppBbackend_be.mde; the front end is...

1) Is there a free runtime version of Access available that is more recent than the one for Access 2000? 2) If I create an application (MDE) in A2K, will it run on all later versions of Access? 3) If I create a CD using A2K Developer that includes the runtime version of Access 2K and an installation package, and if someone tries to install the application from the CD, what happens if someone already has Access 2000 or a later version...

Any help would be grateful :-) Problem: When I test my installation of Access 2000 MDE, I get the following error: "Unrecognised Format".. This means that Access 97 cannot read Access 2000. But I was under the Impression that Access 2000, could be redistributed using Install Shield 7 and that it would not effect the workstations current status. My Current senario is:

This is a general posting of how I fixed a problem created by using the Access 97 ODE Setup Wizard on a Windows XP machine. I hope it helps anyone who comes across the problem saves them the 3 days its taken me to sort out. The application generates the following error: "Incompatible version of the RPC stub" This occurs when trying to run Outlook to send an email. However I expect it would occur for any operation which uses...

Apologies in advance as I am SURE this has been asked 100 times - but I haven't got a simple answer: I have MS Office XP Developer and have created an installation package (with the runtime) for an Access 2002 database. Hello All, I had some considerable help from people in this forum a log while ago whilst developing a databse for use in our business. The database has developed beyond my wildest dreams over the last 3 years and I am very proud of it. It was developed in Access 2000 on a Windows 95 machine where it still runs and during the development process I added various elements from the installation disks which were not part of the standard...

I have an Access 97 app and the ADT and am considering selling it to the public. Is this viable? What issues might I have? I also have Access 2000 and could use that if it would be better. I don't have the "ADT" for 2000. Is it called ODE or ODT? Can you still buy that? Would there be any advantage in moving up to and distributing using

Hi, I am using the Microsoft Office Access 2003 Developer Extensions to package a Ms Access application. After packaging & running setup, the installation works & is completed OK. The problem is with uninstalling. If I install the package to the default folder i.e \program files\"my package"\, the uninstall works fine & deletes the folder "my package" with all its contents. If i install the package in a non default folder e.g. \"my package"\,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
