Hi,
I am using the Microsoft Office Access 2003 Developer Extensions to package a Ms Access application. After packaging & running setup, the installation works & is completed OK.
The problem is with uninstalling. If I install the package to the default folder i.e \program files\"my package"\, the uninstall works fine & deletes the folder "my package" with all its contents.
If i install the package in a non default folder e.g. \"my package"\, the uninstall completes but does not delete the folder "my package" or any of the files inside.
Am guessing this is a problem with the developer extensions. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,
I will try the application but i am guessing it will not package the Ms Access runtime files. Or can it?

Should be no problem. I've added a Cover and an icon to the files.
The runtime is often already available on a PC having Office installed.

I intend to deploy the application on PC's that do not have Ms Access Installed. Because of this i must include the runtime files in the installation package, thus the need to use the Ms Access Developer Extensions.

As you can read from the features:
"Create buttons to execute exe files"
This will allow to add the runtime and install it with a button press.
Probably will need a .bat file to install the runtime and your application in one go.

I looked at the software and this is not what i am looking for.
I found a solution though. In the .msi file created by access developer extensions package wizard there is a table called "Component" . If you delete all strings in the "KeyPath" column, the un-install works from any installed directory.
Thanks for the assistance.

No thanks needed, thank you for posting the solution so others might benefit from it in the future !

Hi,
in our terminal server environment only a small group of people shall
be allowed to create databases using MS Access 2002.
All the other users should be able to read and use the
database/application created by the Office Developer Package wizard.
I've tested this on one Access-database, and the package installs and
works perfectly, when the users click the shortcut to the
DB-application (installed by the package wizard).
As you...

We are about to deploy a new version of our application re-written in .Net.
Our .Net app is using the installer included with VS.Net 2003. The
previous version of the application was deployed using InstallShield. Is it
possible, using a Custom Action, to call the previous apps uninstall
routine? If not, help on how to uninstall the previous version while still
using the .Net installer would be appreciated.

I am developing a Windows application using VS2005 Pro (VB). The solution
includes a setup project. I sent the setup files to a tester and he installed
and used the program successfully. I then sent him a new install package with
some updates but after he did the uninstall via Add/Remove Programs and then
runs the new install package it complains that the program is already
installed? How can I completely uninstall the previous version.

I'm new to this forum, and I suspect this has been answered before, but I can't find the information.
I have an Access DB that I've developed, split FE / BE, and installed on several customer workstations via downloads from my website. The initial install also installed the 2003 runtime libraries. (Win XP, 2003 Access Developer Extensions)
My problem is that now I need to update some of the BE tables and programs in the FE. I've modified...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
