I'm new to this forum, and I suspect this has been answered before, but I can't find the information.
I have an Access DB that I've developed, split FE / BE, and installed on several customer workstations via downloads from my website. The initial install also installed the 2003 runtime libraries. (Win XP, 2003 Access Developer Extensions)
My problem is that now I need to update some of the BE tables and programs in the FE. I've modified the FE to include SQL to make the appropriate table changes in the BE. When I create a new installation package and try to install it, I get a message that says something along the lines of 'Another version of this program has already been installed, please uninstall it before installing this version." Is there any way to get the FE updates to just install over the existing FE? This seems like it should be an easy issue to resolve, but it's been a real pain thus far.
Thanks much!

I have an Access application that is being used by 150+ clients. I
develop in 97, convert to 2000 and distribute as a 97 or 2000 mde, or 97
runtime. This limits me to 97 functions. My clients may use any one of
Access 97, 2000, 2002, 2003 or 97 runtime.
So that I'm not lingering too far behind, I'm thinking of developing in
2003, using 2000 file format and distributing a 2000 mde for users of
Access 2000+. (I understand I'll need to use...

I have a desperate short term need for a way to install Access 2003
runtime on client computers. I have the proper license to do so but I
cannot seem to find the files to do it like we did with the old Access
2000 Runtime. Also, I cannot use the MS Package & Deployment wizard
because it won't allow us to install our app into the specific path
that it must be in. It only seems to allow preset macros to define
the target install path --...

I installed Visual Studio 2005 Professional Ediction in order to
create a 2003 Access Deploymnet package so my client could run the
Access system I created on all their computers without having Access
installed. This seemed to wipe out the choice of selecting the
Packaging wizard choiceI had previously. How do you run the packaging
wizard to create a deployment package if you have installed 2005
Visual Studio?
Thanks.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
