Forms - Splitting Questions & Design

99 New Member
Hi,

I have 3 tables set up. tblQuestion, tblAnswer, tblClient. I have them linked together and have a sbf and mainform set up for data entry. The sbf links the questions and answers together. The mainform is based off the tblClients and has the sbf inserted into it. At this point, all the questions from tblQuestions are shown, and tblAnswers have $0.00 (currency fill-in field). SO the questions are all prepopulated with the default answers. What I need to do is split this form up. I have about 200 questions, which is more than I want on the form. I want to make about 5 forms, each with about 40 questions. This will make it easier for question grouping and for data entry. How can I set the properties to display only certain questions on each form? (ex: Form A displays questionNo 1-40; Form B displays questionNo 41-80).

Some background: tblQuestions has 200 questions. This table has a QuestionNo (autonumber 1-200) and a text field “Question” which has all 200 questions entered. tblAnswers is based off a query which combines the questions with the “default” answers ($0.00). TblAnswers has a ClientID FK in it. And on the mainform, this is set to equal the mainforms ClientID (based off tblClient).

So in summary. I have all the questions and default answers displayed for a Client at the moment. But I need to split the questions up onto multiple forms. (Special thanks to mmccarthy for getting me to the point where I can ask this question). Thanks.

There does not seem to be any forum for general oo design questions, so I'm posting it here. I'm developing a generalized form processing system under .NET and I wonder if anyone has come up with an OO data model for forms handling, or where one might go to look for such a thing. I suppose it would be a little like the Microsoft Access Forms model where you have forms, subforms and controls within forms. Basically, this system needs to be...

How does one launch multiple forms in an application? Using Photoshop as an example, this application seems to be composed of many 'disjoint' forms. Yet, they all seem somewhat 'active' in contrast to one of them always being 'modal' (e.g., if you are moving over a picture the 'Info' form will update the (x,y) screen location in realtime even if not the selected form. Also note that this example implies the various forms can communicate...

I was thinking it might be a good idea to split this newsgroup into different newsgroups, depending on the version of VS C++.NET being discussed. Thus, there would be 2002, 2003, and 2005 newsgroups instead of just one for all. This would at least end any confusion if someone asks a question and doesn't state which version they are using (which of course can change the answer to such questions). Just a thought...

Hi All, When using forms authentication with IIS 6.0, I can create a user and log in the user. But the LoginStatus control states that the user is logged out. When running the same app using the file system and the Visual Studio web server the LoginStatus page functions properly by displaying the LoggedIn template. Any help is appreciated.

In my application I have a form (Customer) that I want to be able to open multiple copies at once. Within this form I have other forms that can be opened. Example: ZipCode. When the user enters a zipcode that is unknown this form will open. I don't want users to modify any of this customers data until they close the zipcode form. Normally this can accomplished using a modal form, however this prevents me from opening a new copy of...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
