Hi there,
is it possible to avoid that a user could enter a text directly in a
combobox?
The user should only select a text from the list of the combobox without
typing anything.
Thanks

G'day,
After doing much searching and pinching bits of ideas from here there and
everywhere I came up with a fairly 'clean' solution of including a comboBox
into a dataGrid column.
You can download a fully working C# sample with the Northwind.mdb here:

Currently, when the user presses a letter key the combo box will go to the
first item in the collection of the combo box starting with that letter. For
example user presses on "R", and "R2F" appears in the combo box, then the
user presses on "H", "HIF" appears.
I want the user to be able to enter 2 or 3 characters and the combo box will
step through as the user enters the letters. For example user presses on
"R", "R2F" appears, then...

are there any decent 3rd Party Comboboxes/DropDownLists for ASP.NET that
will allow users to enter data into them like in VB.NET?
basically i want a combobox that i can populate with a list of values from a
table. then the user can then enter the value into the combobox and it will
move to the nearest match
Cheers,
Craig

Hi friends,
In my web page i have to create a combobox in HTML+JavaScript. The nature of that combobox should be such that it should allow the user to enter the data in the combobox dynamically(when page is opened) and as well as it should retrieve data from the database.
With my code, it could retrieve data from the database, but it is allowing the user to enter data in combo box dynamically.
Can anyone help me in...

Dear reader,
One of the properties of a field is "Auto expand".
Is this the property to able and unable the expend by typing.
My experience with "Expend by typing" in a combobox is not so good.

Dear reader,
What can be wrong in my ComboBox, the property "Auto Expand" is set to Yes,
but by typing in the ComboBox it doesn't expand. Is this because the source
of the ComboBox is a query.

I understand that the Value put into a DataGridViewComboBoxCell has to be a
member of the Items list or an exception is thrown.
I also understand that you can override that exception by handling the
DataError event and just doing nothing in the circumstance that caused the
error.
Here's my situation: I would like to allow the user to EITHER select an item
from the ComboBox (in a DataGridView) OR type in a new value of their own.

Hi,
I have a ComboBox in a Windows app (.net2.0). And when users start typing
into it, the dropdown populates itself from a webservice and gives relevant
options under it... But the mouse hides itself, os its very hard to know what
you are selecting.
The reason for mouse hiding itself is because in Control Panel >Mouse >>
Pointer Options >Hide pointer while typing is checked.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
