2 New Member
Hi all
I am using a MS DatePicker in an Access form and I am getting the following error message after changing the default date to a new date.

"error evaluating check constraint in the validation rule" ???

Any help would be highly appreciated.

See your regional setting about date time and update it as mentionned there

If there is some specifiques as 23/08/2006 Year

remove all sort of years at the end...

Thank you for your assistance, but I made a mistake by adding a Validation Rule to the date record field in the table, without specifying any rule. Very smart … 
When data was entered or the value was changed the Validation Rule setting kicked in and since there was no specific rule, an error message showed up … and you know the rest.

Thank you again for your assistance.

I am working with an evaluation copy of SQL Server 2000 for the first time; my DB experience lies with MS Access. I have a simple table in SQL Server (tblCompany) that has a field called "Ticker." When new company stock tickers (i.e., MSFT for Microsoft) are entered into the field, I'd like them in all caps--whether the user types msft, Msft, MsFt, etc. In Access, this was easy--simply set the Format to ">" in table design view. In...

Using Microsoft Access 2000, I am defining a bunch of fields all with default values. The reason for this is that I have 5 text fields, each of which can have 5 permutations depending on the value entered in the associated integer field. I have been able to define the 5 text fields for integers 1 to 4. However when I try to define the 5 text fields for the 5th integer,

A97. A database has a table: tblA which has a single text field, B. It is a primary field, indexed and no duplicates. It is used as a lookup for table tblC. A form based on tblA is used to add new records. The Validation Rule: <>!! was made using the expression builder. The rule produces this error: The expression you entered in the Form control's Validation Rule doesn't contain the Automation object 'Tables' If I use simply: ...

But i have still so many questions about how to do it, where to check it and how to display a good error message. I would love to hear some comments about my ideas:

This database (Access 2003, Windows XP) has been operational for 2 months now. We enter data into the database using a form. Recently we have been unable to add new records to the database and get this error message each time we try to save a new record: "Error 'Error evaluating CHECK constraint. 'in the validation rule". This is a multi-user database so no validation rules were built to prevent this very issue. I have check all the fields in...

Last week, 2 different times, a person closed the form and received a "Error Evaluating Check Constraint in the validation rule" I have no idea what the error number is for this error. I have no validation rules on the table or controls. Does anybody have a clue what would trigger this error message?

Before anything else, I am not a very technical expert when it comes to VBA coding. I learned most of what I know by the excellent Access/VBA forum from bytes.com (formerly thescripts.com). Ergo, I will be writing this article intended for those who are in the same level, or maybe lower, of my technical knowledge. I would be using layman's words, or maybe, my own words as how I understand them, hoping, you will understand it the same way that...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
