When you create database diagrams in Enterprise Manager, the details
for constructing those diagrams is saved into the dtproperties table.
This table includes an image field which contains most of the relevant
infomation, in a binary format.
SQL Enterprise manager offers no way to script out those diagrams, so
I have created two Transact SQL components, one User Function and one
User Procedure, which together provide a means to script...

Hello all,
I am migrating a Paradox application to SQL Server. My problem is that the
existing Paradox table structure is limited. Correcting it will mean a
re-write of the application (Delphi app). Although the record and column
limits are higher in SQL Server, it will eventually hit the wall. So I was
wondering if anyone could offer advise on how we might do this best....
The application is essentially an evaluation tool. It is very...

Hi
I have a really weird problem and any assistance would be welcome.
I have developed an app in Access 2002. The app runs perfectly on the
development machine. I have packaged the app
using the Microsoft XP Developer Packaging Wizard (Service Pack 1). The 1st
3 releases of the app ran perfectly on
site.

Hi,
I'm working on a project that historically contains around 40 enums. In the
database various fields refer to the int values of these enums, but of
course ref integrity is not enofrced and when looking at the db we can't
tell what the value in a field represents. The other problem is that our
enums are currently all stored in a single class, which means that because
of no visibility constraints the enums are often used out of context...

All, I have an append query set up that pulls records off of one table
and appends them to a linked table. However, when the query runs, it
gives me an error message saying that the records could not be appended
due to a validation rule error. The wierd thing is there are no
validation rules set up for any of the fields in either table. All
fields are the exact same type and have the same properties. Any
thoughts would be greatly...

Last week, 2 different times, a person closed the form and received a
"Error Evaluating Check Constraint in the validation rule" I have no
idea what the error number is for this error. I have no validation
rules on the table or controls. Does anybody have a clue what would
trigger this error message?

n1256.pdf (C99 TC3), 5.2.4.1 Translation limits p1 says:
Does that mean that *any* program using an array of two or more
elements other than char is allowed to be rejected by an
implementation?
For example,
int main(void) { int array; return 0; }

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
