Error Evaluating CHECK constraint.

1 New Member
This database (Access 2003, Windows XP) has been operational for 2 months now. We enter data into the database using a form. Recently we have been unable to add new records to the database and get this error message each time we try to save a new record: "Error 'Error evaluating CHECK constraint. 'in the validation rule". This is a multi-user database so no validation rules were built to prevent this very issue. I have check all the fields in the table to make sure that no one has inadvertently added validation rules. I have not found any validation rules that may have been added by mistake. I have turned error checking off/on and off again but this does not seem to help.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Please respond.

Thank you.

I am working with an evaluation copy of SQL Server 2000 for the first time; my DB experience lies with MS Access. I have a simple table in SQL Server (tblCompany) that has a field called "Ticker." When new company stock tickers (i.e., MSFT for Microsoft) are entered into the field, I'd like them in all caps--whether the user types msft, Msft, MsFt, etc. In Access, this was easy--simply set the Format to ">" in table design view. In...

In case I try to Insert a record that's alreaddy in it I get this exception: "Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'tblTelephones' with unique index 'UniqueValues'." What I'm looking for is a way to identify the exception: in case I get this

Using Microsoft Access 2000, I am defining a bunch of fields all with default values. The reason for this is that I have 5 text fields, each of which can have 5 permutations depending on the value entered in the associated integer field. I have been able to define the 5 text fields for integers 1 to 4. However when I try to define the 5 text fields for the 5th integer,

Hi, i have a question about how to handle postgresql constraint errors in the client app. I found some mails in the archive about it, too. But i have still so many questions about how to do it, where to check it and how to display a good error message. I would love to hear some comments about my ideas:

FYI, It'd be nice if the error message from a REFERENCES constraint mentioned the column name into which the bad data was attempted to be inserted. In PostgreSQL 7.3: sandbox=> insert into foo (id, b) values (3, 2); ERROR: b_is_fkey referential integrity violation - key referenced from

Last week, 2 different times, a person closed the form and received a "Error Evaluating Check Constraint in the validation rule" I have no idea what the error number is for this error. I have no validation rules on the table or controls. Does anybody have a clue what would trigger this error message?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
