Help creating an insert query in access

Can anyone help me please?!
I am a beginner and i am in desperate need of help. I have to create an insert query in access using a table i've already created called "madlibs" Then I have to create a code in vb.net to call this query when a user clicks the submit button. The objective is to have the database automatically updated when a user submits information. The problem is that I don't know where to begin, so if someone could just point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

Syntax for the query is straightforward

INSERT INTO madlibs (Fieldname1, Fieldname2, etc) VALUES (Value1, Value2, etc);

I'm afraid vb.net is not my area of expertise. However, I would imagine that you would need to create an odbc connection to the database and, rather than calling the query, executing it as a sql command.

Thank so much, that really helped me a lot. I really appreciate that.

Two things I am not sure about, and would appreciate an answer to. 1) This may be simple. When creating a form to insert data into a table, I seem to loose all the returns when data is inputted. I use the following script: page1.php: <form action="page2.php"> <textarea name="textbox"></textarea> <input type="submit">

When it comes to adding records in related tables, Access is really smart. But when I try to do the same using ADO, I am really stupid. Say I have two parent tables (eg Course, Student) and one child table (StudentProgress). The course progress records how a student progresses on a course. I have one course (History) and one student called Maya. I now want to record her grade (64). If I do this in Access using a form, then the form...

I have a problem that I am desperate to understand. It involves dynamically adding controls to a Table control that is built as a result of performing a database query. I am not looking to avoid the problem by avoiding the table control or resorting to databound controls that better manage state for me. I hope to understand how to solve the problem by using the Table web control and sticking to the approach of building the table at run...

Hello, I have created 3 functions to insert, update and delete an Access database record. The Insert and the Delete code are working fine. The update is not. I checked and my database has all the necessary records in it when testing it. I get the error "No value given for one or more required parameters." when I try to update the database. Can you tell me what am I doing wrong?

I know, that statement can make me lots of enemies. I am sorry, but I've worked with a SQL Server back end with an MS Access ADP on the front end, and the process of creating queries, and especially update, insert and delete queries is SO much easier in Access. I didn't think I'd miss it when I moved over to an environment managing about 160 "nearly identical" databases across several servers. I was wrong. I suppose I can create a front...

During registration, users are supposed to enter the following details: First Name, Last Name, EMail, UserName, Password, Confirm Password, Address, City, State, Country, Zip & Phone Number. I am using MS-Access 2000 database table for this app. Note that the datatype of all the fields mentioned above are Text. Apart from the above columns, there's another column in the DB table named 'RegDateTime' whose datatype is Date/Time which is...

Hi been working with connecting to access database for a few days now and thought i'd mastered it but judging by the following - obviously not! My code is supposed to get a string from text box and get a string from a selection of a jcombobox (search keyword from column) and create a results table (via a new class) after querying the database. I'm not getting any errors and i know (via a if statment that resultSet != null but my print...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
