OT. Using a MS Wireless Mouse question

I bought a MS Standard Wireless Optical Mouse, ver 3.0 today and I have
a question about it. The question is...do you leave the batteries in
until they die? Does the red light stay on until the batteries die or
is there a way to turn the mouse off.

There is a paragragh in the product manual that states:
"Storing the Receiver in the Mouse.
For added portability or when the mouse is not in use, you can snap the
receiver into its slot on the bottom of the mouse. Attaching the
receiver to the mouse in this way automatically turns the mouse off."

I have hunted for slots in the botton of the mouse. None found. I see
no way to put the receiver into or onto the mouse. MS, in the product
manual, of course did not supply any picture. If you have experience
with this mouse, can you interpret or translate the above paragraph from
MS so that it makes some sense to a newbie with MS wireless mice?

As a billion dollar company, I would think MS could provide better
documentation. MS wants $35 for tech support which is more than I paid
for the damn mouse. It appears you need to be a VIP with them to even
get e-mail support.

Your insights will be appreciated.

With my Cordless/optical mouse. I plugged in the reciver in an USB
port, and placed on my desk.
Yes the red light stays on until the batteries dies. I have tried the
expensive batteries and the cheap ones and they both last about the
same time.

Hope this helps.

Hi, everyone! I've tried to make a program which can get the wireless signal strength of wireless NIC(ex. 802.11b network card). As I know, regardless of whatever vender's NIC is used, in the property window of wireless network card, we can see the wireless signal strength state. (antenna 0-5) How can I get this information?

Hi all, I am about to distribute an A97-runtime app. which will be used on a LAN by approx. 30 users. The network is pretty good, but there are a few managers who have wireless laptops... Of course they also want to access the db. I am a bit afraid of possible corruption due to the wireless connections. ==> Do I have to be afraid indeed?...

I have absolutely no idea if this is possible, and if so, how. Is there any way...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
