Access 2000 runtime and record-level locking

I use the Access 2000 MSI Wizard from Sagekey and they don't know if the bug
documented on page 32 of the Access 2000 Developer`s Handbook Volume 2:
Enterprise Edition still affects the runtime.

Apparently page locking is invoked when using the Access run-time record
than record-level locking. This also affects Access 2000 but if you patch
Access the bug is fixed. I really don't know about the runtime though.

Does anyone know if databases using the Access 2000 runtime default to
page-level locking?
thanks
Martin

Does anyone know of any potential problems running a 2000 database with 2003? Also, what about installing all other Office products as 2003 versions but leaving Access as 2002 running a 2000 database? Why you ask! A client has a 2000 database. Currently using 2000 runtime for most employees to work with database. A couple use 2003 to use database, no problems. They have a mix of versions of other products such as Word, Excel - 97,...

I've seen plenty of articles on this topic but none of them have been able to solve my problem. I am working with an Access 97 database on an NT4.0 machine, which has many Access reports. I want my users to be able to select a report, click on a command button on a form, which will then automatically create the report as a pdf file and save it to the user's machine. I am using Adobe Acrobat (5.0 I think) and have Adobe Distiller as a

Hello, An ACCESS application (mde) is installed on a computer looking at an mdb file on the same machine. As far as I know the application is installed thru a Wise Installer script. The installation process performs an installation of ACCESS 2000 RUNTIME thru a SAGEKEY script. The application is designed to run only in within the scope of ACCESS 2000 RUNTIME. Everything works fine.

Hi, I am automating Access reports to PDF using PDF Writer 6.0. I've created a DTS package to run the reports and schedule a job to run this DTS package. If I PC Anywhere into the server on where the job is running, the job runs sucessfully, PDF files got generated, everything is good. If I scheduled the job to run at the time that I am not logged into the server, Access is not able to print to the printer. The error is pretty...

Apologies in advance as I am SURE this has been asked 100 times - but I haven't got a simple answer: I have MS Office XP Developer and have created an installation package (with the runtime) for an Access 2002 database. The problem: when installing on a Windows XP machine, I get the following error: The Office System Pack cannot be installed on this system because it

Can I create a runtime application using Access 2000, and if so how? I currently have MS Access 2003, but my client does not have MS Access installed on their PC and I want to show them an example application first before purchasing the runtime software. I understand that Access 2000 runtime can be downloaded from Office online. Any advice would be most helpful. Thaanks in advance Dawn Davis

Hi We need some advice: We are thinking of upgrading our Access database from Access 2000 to Access 2004. How stable is MS Office 2003? (particularly Access 2003). We are just a small company and this is a big decision for us(!) It's not just the money it's committing to an new version of Access!

I have an Access 97 app and the ADT and am considering selling it to the public. Is this viable? What issues might I have? I also have Access 2000 and could use that if it would be better. I don't have the "ADT" for 2000. Is it called ODE or ODT? Can you still buy that? Would there be any advantage in moving up to and distributing using

I'm confused about what is necessary to distribute an Access 2003 application to people that don't have MS Access (or don't have the right version) installed on their PCs. I have done some research on the MS website, as well as on this newsgroup, and have never found a clear explanation of what is required. I have written an application that I would like to sell, but if I can only sell to those with access to Access (sorry, couldn't...

I have a dilemia, I have an application that I am having to make some changes to in order for it to run sucessfully under Runtime 2007. We are currently working on upgrading from 2000 to 2007. The users will be running the apps under 'Runtime Access 2007' Here is my dilema... This application is used as a 'stand alone', basically, my users get a copy of the 'master' database and enter their data specifically for one account, each account they...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
