Importing Sage Payroll Database into Access

Hi all,

Wondering whether you can anyone help me. We have Sage Payroll (and
accounting/payroll software), which has a MS Access database where the data
is stored.

Now I want to access the data in this database but whenever I do (without
using the Sage payroll client application) I get a permission problem. Now
I have the correct username and password, and I tried importing it in a new
Access database, but with no luck. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I even tried setting up an ODBC connection in Windows to the Sage Payroll
database, with the correct login credentials, but still no luck.

The reason I want to have read only access to the Sage Payroll database is
that the reporting tools are a little limited, I want to write some
applications which can generate more complex and flexible reports, but using
the Payroll database as the source of data.

Any advice/help will be great! Thanks in advance!

Steve.

What did Sage have to say when you asked them? It seems they are
making an effort to keep you out.

The username/password to logon to Sage is not necessarily the same as
is needed to link to the tables.

My mission is to get some data out of a sage application, via a very complicated query, into a csv file. My approach, so far, has been 1) link access tables to the sage application 2) build some sub queries 3) build a big query that brings together all the little queries. 4) dump the data generated by the big query into a csv file.

I currently have Sage MAS200 SQL (with eBusiness and full support) and looking to launch a consumer ecommerce site. I also have an old website (we took it offline to focus on distribution) written in ASP. The site is from 1998. We now want to launch a new site. I was thinking of running the whole consumer site on PHP/MySQL, but willing to consider ASP.NET. I have the following questions: 1) What is the best way to integrate the MAS200...

Hello Friends! I have three questions I wish to ask with regard to some tasks I am performing in Ms Access 2003. 1. I have a start up form named “Splash” which I want it to load for some seconds when the database is opened and then to close and give way to another form called “Loans”. I would not want the “Splash” form to appear again unless I close the database and re-open it again. How do I code this in VBA or using Macros?

I am having problems with pulling the correct information on the payroll direct deposit check stub. Under the deductions portion for the 401K Company match line it is printing '0' in the current column and for the year to date column it is only giving me historical data. On all the other deductions they are pulling the information correctly for the current column and YTD column, so in reality it is not including the current pay period...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
