START UP FORM, PAYROLL AND CURRENCY DENOMINATION

Hello Friends!

I have three questions I wish to ask with regard to some tasks I am
performing in Ms Access 2003.

1. I have a start up form named “Splash” which I want it to load for some
seconds when the database is opened and then to close and give way to another
form called “Loans”. I would not want the “Splash” form to appear again
unless I close the database and re-open it again. How do I code this in VBA
or using Macros?

2. I have a payroll whose orientation in report form is landscape. The
headings are in multiple rows while the data is laid out in several columns
each page. Here is a hypothetical example:

Employee’s Name John Smith Mary Jones
Designation Clerk Typist
P/No. 001 002
-----------------------
Basic Pay 35,000/= 32,000/=
H/A 15,000/= 10,000/=
------------- ------------- -----------
Gross Pay 60,000/= 42,000/=
Less:
Deductions 25,000/= 12,000/=
--------------- ------------- -----------
Net Pay 45,000/= 30,000/=

There are several columns on each page. How do I lay out these.

3. I have a payroll in MS Excel 2003 which I want to transfer to Ms Access
2003. I want to get the MS Access VBA formulas/code for breaking down net
pays into shillings denominations of 1000/=,500/=,200/=,100/=,50/=,20/=,10/=,
5/=,1/=,0.50

Set the timer interval of Splash to, say, 5000 (5 secs). Put some code in
the Timer event to close Splash and open Loans:

DoCmd.OpenForm "Splash"
DoCmd.Close acForm, Me.Name

Keith.

Hoping someone an assist me urgently. I would truly appreciate and help. I have a form and prices are based on 'price break'. 1.The price break fields work fine, but I cannot for the life of me add more than one to a page. 2. Also need to add the two results to a 'total' field. (See code attached). Many thanks in advance.

Hi all, Wondering whether you can anyone help me. We have Sage Payroll (and accounting/payroll software), which has a MS Access database where the data is stored. Now I want to access the data in this database but whenever I do (without using the Sage payroll client application) I get a permission problem. Now I have the correct username and password, and I tried importing it in a new Access database, but with no luck. Maybe I'm...

I'm sure this is very simple, but I have very little experience with javascript -- and what I do know isn't helping me here. I have a simple form where users can enter a quantity (qty) and cost (cost). Users can dynamically add rows to the table so I don't know how many rows might need to be calculated. I need to calculate the total (qty * cost) and put that number in a table cell (or read only input box). I also need to sum the...

Dear All, I’ve been using this forum since three weeks now and I always had the answer to my questions. So this encourages me to use it again but I hope I am not annoying anybody. I am trying to develop databases for my company but I have little knowledge of Access, which means that I am learning while building them. I don’t post here my questions before having turned around the problem and done some research on my side. So I greatly...

I am a self taught access user who muddles along! I have a database which has two tables one for recording staff details and the other to record their contract details - they are linked by their payroll number. I have built a group by query which returns the latest contract details entry for each payroll number I have then built an additional query so that I can add in additional info such as name, salary, contract end date, etc. This works...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
