I think I have a somewhat unique situation here, so I thought I should
post it for the few poor souls who run across it and try to google it
like I did.
First of all, I was getting the following error when trying to hit one
of my pages...
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Invalid URI: There is an invalid sequence in the string.

I would like to generate an .mdi file from a C# program. Specifically I want
to avoid the need for the user to choose the file location and name which
just setting the printDocument.PrinterSettings.PrinterName to the MODI writer
does. I can find an object model for the viewer but not the printer driver.
Has anyone any ideas please?

The short sample program listed below has some features that I find to be
bad style. In particular, they fail to communicate the connection between
names used in this program and the location in which they are declared and
or defined. I'd like to know if there are any features of this code you
believe represents bad programming technique. How would the feature be
better implemented?

Does anyone know if the filename can be set programatically and the 'Save as
' dialogue box suppressed? I presently use a 3rd party control and as all of
the machines that I ma using have Microsoft Office Document Image Writer
instlled, this would be an easier solution.
Best wishes

I am having a problem generating some soap proxies dynamically using
almost the exact same code as in the MSDN sample.
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.services.description.webreference(VS.80).aspx
It has very few differences, mainly I had to manipulate the document to
remove the Any tags that caused 400+ validation warnings but even after
getting the WebReference object ValidationWarnings to 0, it says...

Hello All,
I'd like your comments on the code below. The sub does exactly what I want it to do but I don't feel that it is solid as all. It seems like I'm
using some VB6 code, .Net2003 code, and .Net2005 code. I'm developing in vb.net 2005.
This test sub just reads an input text file, writing out records to another text file, eliminating records that have a '99' in them (it is similar to
a CSV file).
Some of my concerns are:

When I print to a file using C# print what format is the file written out in?
I am debugging a print routine and don't want to do the actual print but would like to open the output file in something like
Photoshop. What file extension should I use so that I can see the output.
Sorry if this is a stupid question. I tried bmp format but Photoshop at least doesn't recognize the file
Thanks,
Steve

As a project requirement we need to convert word documents to tiff images. We have been using Microsoft Office Document Image Writer (MODI) for this puspose and doing absolutely well.
But now this process need to be automated. Whenever a document is converted to tiff MODI pops up a "Save as" dialog box which asks the path to save the converted tiff file.
Now is there a way this "Save as" dialog box can be suppressed and all the files be...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
