I see this is a common question, however I haven't found any good
answers.
I receive ms-access mdb files from various clients. These mdb files
have roughly the same structure, however each client tends to make
some slight modifications to one or two tables.
When I receive these files, I need to transport data into a standard
file template. Currently I have to modify table field names and
definitions manualy before I transport data from the clients database
into my database template. I refer to this as "mapping" data from the
client's database into mine.
My template needs to remain relatively un-modified, as there are
multiple queries and reports that are configured to my field names and
defitions.
Are there any free or commercial utilities available today to do this
on the recent versions of ms-access?

Mark,
Create an append query and append your client's data to an empty copy of your
template. It doesn't matter what the client field names are, you will keep the
field names in your template. No muss no fuss!!!

I have a MySql database I connect through using mysql-connector-...jar under
java. I
need to co-exist with another MySql database in order to get this one job
wherein the fields of the other database can map to fields in my database.
For example, they have a customers table as does mine. There may be some
differences in the fields and such, but, in broad strokes, the tables are
redundant.
I cannot, however, rewrite this application to...

I'm writing a VB6 app which calls several stored procedures on my SQL
Server DB.
The first stored procedure must complete its inserts before the second
stored procedure can query the modified table for its results. My
problem is that
the second stored procedure occasionally returns a different result
set, acting as if the first stored procedure didn't complete (or
didn't run).

Hi everybody.
My problem: there are two tables. Their columns' widths are set by the
content. Do you have any idea how to set the width of the second table's
columns to be the same as width of adequate columns in the first table ?
Best regards,
ABS

Hi
This is a repost due to no responses
Here's a problem I've encountered with Access 2003 which has got me to
redesign how I get the row source in a second combo box using the first
combo box as a filter.
In Access 2002 and earlier the row source for the second combo was "SELECT
Field1, Field2 etc, FROM MyTable WHERE Field3 =

Hi everyone,
I have a problem synchronizing two list boxes on a form. I want to
display information in the second box based on the selection in the
first box. First box (List0)lists all company names from table that
lists quotes. I diplay a company only once even if it is listed more
that one time. The second box (List4)should display quotes for a
selected company (one or more.) Here is what I have for AfterUpdate in
the first box:

What Works
I have a subform (Events1) with a combo box field called “eventname”.
The combo box displays the correct information from the second column of
its lookup table, i.e., column #1: “eventID”, column #2: “eventname”,
(The ”Column Count” is “2”; the “Column Widths” is “ 0";1" “; the “Bound
Column” is “1”; and “Limit to List” is “Yes”. The, “eventsname” field
is located on a subform called, “Events1”.).
Once a choice is made...

We are getting ready to move an ASP.NET application off of a single
development machine and onto a "webfarm". Basically our webfarm is a bunch
of identical servers with the load-balancing provided by a network
appliance. What I'm wondering is what is the best way to keep the ASP.NET
(.aspx and .dll) files synchronized across all of the servers in the farm.
Our ASP.NET application is very simple - we could just copy the content to
all of...

Hi All,
I have a form that tracks problem issues. On that form I would like to
have 2 subforms with 1-to-many notes associated with each problem. On
the first subform I'd like to show a datasheet view of the associated
notes, with datecreated and notesubject. On the 2nd subform I'd like to
show a single form view of the actual note memo field.
I've placed an invisible sychronization field on the main form, which I
update from the On...

Is there really any advantage to using DIV elements with float style
properies, vs. the old method of TABLE and TR and TD?
I'm finding that by using DIV, it still involves the same number of
elements in the HTML to get everything just right. When you consider
the class attribute on the DIV elements, there's not much size savings
anymore for using DIV.
There are other disadvantages to not using TABLE/TR/TD, such as the
lack of ability...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
