I can't get the "path" description to work for synchronizing 2 forms

What Works

I have a subform (Events1) with a combo box field called “eventname”.
The combo box displays the correct information from the second column of
its lookup table, i.e., column #1: “eventID”, column #2: “eventname”,
(The ”Column Count” is “2”; the “Column Widths” is “ 0";1" “; the “Bound
Column” is “1”; and “Limit to List” is “Yes”. The, “eventsname” field
is located on a subform called, “Events1”.).

Once a choice is made from the combo box in the “Events”1 subform, the
end-user clicks on a button and navigates to a popup form (frmMain)
(with a different table of course).

The frmMain popup form, with a subform (frmStatus), opens; it is
supposed to open with a field in the subform, “frmStatus” populated with
information from the combo box field “eventname” of the “Events1” form.
What Does NOT Work

However, instead of displaying information from the second column,
“eventname” field, I get the record autonumber from the first column of
the table field, “eventID” instead.

The only difference I can see is that the form with the field intended
for populating is on a tab control on a sub-form.

Is either the PATH or Tab Control the problem?

I know that when you populate a field with information from another
form, you have to write the full path for pointing to the field
location. Could the tab control be getting in the way of the path
description? The following is the method I used:
FIRST FORM -
Information Source Main Form: Events Main
Subform: Events1
Field: eventname (combo box
field)
POPUP FORM -

Information Target Main Form: frmMain
Subform: frmStatus
Tab: tabStatus, and located
on the tab,
Field: eventname (I get the
autonumber instead when this form opens.)
In the Properties area of the, “frmStatus” subform, I have the following
code:

Private Sub Form_Current()
Me.eventname = [Forms]![Events Main]![events1].[Form]![eventname]
End Sub

I'm setting up a script to build a C# solution, with several assemblies ( dlll's ). The script language would probably be VBScript, within a Windows Script ( .wsf ) file. The main build step is done by running the command-line program "devenv.com", for Visual Studio .NET 2003. An earlier step I need to is to add a folder ( "X:\" ) to the "References Path" for each project in the solution. Can anyone say a way to do that in a script ? ...

I use FolderBrowserDlg for user to select a folder path then store it in the sql table. I then retrieve it to concatenate in a sqlcommand text to retrive files from that directory but it won't work because the database has it as "\\Support\VMS\VMSDB" while the C# code expects to see @"\\Support\\VMS\\VMSDB" . Is there a way to fix this? Thanks, alpha

If I try to make any changes to the ASP.NET Portal Starter kit it fails with an access denied error. This was working when I left last week and is failing today. I don't remember changing anything, but I guess something had to be changed. I have checked NTFS permissions and the ASPNET account has full control on the parent directory of that XML file and on the file itself. I have also checked in IIS, and the Virtual Directory has...

I have been having trouble the last few days opening any ASP.NET web forms in the design view in the designer. Every time I clicked on an aspx file I got a message box with the error "Unable to open in designer. Illegal characters in path" and the file is instead opened in HTML view. I don't know what application or situation may have caused this error. I looked on the newsgroups and noticed that numerous other people were having this...

I have to go into these convulsions to get the directory that the script is in whenever I need to use relative paths. I was wondering if you guys have a better way: from os.path import dirname, realpath, abspath here = dirname(realpath(abspath(__file__.rstrip("c")))) In particular, this takes care of the case of symlinked, compiled scripts, which is fairly common at my workplace, and I imagine in many *nix evironments.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
