I'm trying to go to a new page, but I want it to jump straight to a
specific part of the page instead of starting at the top of the page.
Anyone got any idea on how this is done?
I was trying to get it to work with a <a name="here"> tag, but the
browser ignores the #here on the end of my cgi script name.
I tried using javascript and the onload event to rewrite the url, but
I couldn't get that to work either.

Hi guys,
I have some problem about my little http/javascript/xmlhttpreq based
chatroom program:
I use xmlhttpreq object to add data to the current html file.
It will add to a specifiy place, like after a tag or before a tag
And if it adds too many data after that tag, the whole page will become
big and need to scroll down to see the latest added data
how to let it scroll down automatically without any annoying scrolling
down?

We have a site, for reference I'll call this MainSite,
that has certain pages actually hosted on another site,
I'll call this ChildSite. In MainSite when you click on a
certain link, it loads a page with an IFrame that points
to a page in ChildSite. MainSite and ChildSite are on two
different machines. If MainSite can "see" ChildSite,
everything works like a champ. However, if there is a
network problem, firewall issue, or something...

I designed my new front-page of my personal page
http://www.martineyles.me.uk/
in firefox, and all looked fine. But in IE, the main content, which
should be to the right of the menu drops down below the menu. Any ideas
how to fix this.
Thanks,

Hello,
Well, after almost completing my very first real CSS-only design, I'm
just trying to iron out the last problems. You can see a mock-up of the
page at
http://www.kidsinaction.org.uk/freds/freds-css.html
All HTML and CSS validate without warning. If you use FF (I have 1.0.7)
or IE6, it looks fine (from a technical point of view - you might not
like my design!!), but in Opera and IE5, it does not look how I

Hello All,
Here is my issue and thanks in advance for any assistance.
I have a base page with a dropdownlist that fires an event with
the selected index. The content page catches the event and sets
a connection string to the database. The content page has a
simple gridview that should show records from the selected
database. Initial content page displays data from correct place.
first change of dropdownlist correctly updates content...

I have a form with 4 pages. I'm not sure of the correct name, but I
will refer to the tabs at the top of the form that list the names of
the four pages as the "page tabs".
When the form opens, the body of the form automatically scrolls down to
the first tab stop on the form. This causes the body of the form to
scroll down so far that the page tabs are no longer viewable. That is
undesirable for two reasons. First, if a user wants to...

I am in the stages of pushing up web app to a production server and I
am running into an error that I cannot seem trace down. I have a page
that allows one to change their password and runs just fine locally but
fails to load remotely (receive the famous XML Parsing Error: no
element found error).
I was able to trap in the Application_Error event handler and examine
the Context's AllErrors Exception array, which consisted of just one...

Using javascript, is there a way to trap an external page inside a frame?
I've seen scripts to break out of frames, but nothing to keep a page trapped
in a frame.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
