You know, while working on my moonlight corporation's LAMP project at
home this weekend, I couldn't help but wonder if people writing similar
projects are solving similar problems with having to complete the
project by building an installer and building the user/group
administration piece of it.
The thought came to me that it would be great if LAMP developers,
whether they used MySQL or PostgreSQL, could just simply write the
project to...

Hi,
One of my clients has the following situation. They use Access DB for
data update etc. some business functions while they also want to view
the Access data quickly and more efficiently in SQL Server 2000. Huge
Access db with over 100 user tables, over 60 MB data.
The DTS package that comes with SQL Server 2000 seems pretty "messy"
in the sense that it assumes that one needs to do one time import only
or accurately it does not...

This is a general posting of how I fixed a problem created by using the
Access 97 ODE Setup Wizard on a Windows XP machine. I hope it helps anyone
who comes across the problem saves them the 3 days its taken me to sort out.
The application generates the following error:
"Incompatible version of the RPC stub"
This occurs when trying to run Outlook to send an email. However I expect it
would occur for any operation which uses...

Hi,
in our terminal server environment only a small group of people shall
be allowed to create databases using MS Access 2002.
All the other users should be able to read and use the
database/application created by the Office Developer Package wizard.
I've tested this on one Access-database, and the package installs and
works perfectly, when the users click the shortcut to the
DB-application (installed by the package wizard).
As you...

I developed an access database in access 2003(keeping my database in
the access 2000 format). It has been fully tested to be access 2000
compatible and works great.
I am trying to package the final version however and when I tell it to
create a shortcut it includeds the path to access 2003 in the shortcut
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\
my client is running access 2000. I could not figure any way to change
the access...

I have a desperate short term need for a way to install Access 2003
runtime on client computers. I have the proper license to do so but I
cannot seem to find the files to do it like we did with the old Access
2000 Runtime. Also, I cannot use the MS Package & Deployment wizard
because it won't allow us to install our app into the specific path
that it must be in. It only seems to allow preset macros to define
the target install path --...

I installed Visual Studio 2005 Professional Ediction in order to
create a 2003 Access Deploymnet package so my client could run the
Access system I created on all their computers without having Access
installed. This seemed to wipe out the choice of selecting the
Packaging wizard choiceI had previously. How do you run the packaging
wizard to create a deployment package if you have installed 2005
Visual Studio?
Thanks.

Hello
I develop my applications in Access 2002. My development system is
running Windows XP SP2 and I have Microsoft Office XP Developer.
Microsoft Office XP is at SP3.
I used Inno Setup (great product) to install my applications.
When the Access Runtime was needed on the system I simply ran
'accessrt.msi' from Microsoft Office Developer discs.
When another version of Access (other than Access 2002) was on the
system then I simply...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
