If this happens with just this database, you will need to use Access 97 to
repair it before it can be converted.

1. Open the database in A97.

2. From the Tools menu, choose Database Utilities | Compact.

3. Close Access.

4. Open a command prompt and enter something like this. It's one line, and
include the quotes. Change the path as needed:

c:\Program Files\Microsoft office\office\m saccess.exe" /decompile
"c:\My Documents\MyDat abase.mdb"

Now try converting the database to the new version.

I have one access database on the desktop and another access database on a remote web server. Is there any way to setup an ODBC link between the two? I've tried adding IP addresses and even domain names to the network path and it never finds the connection. Is there another way to connect or some other trick to this? I'd like the desktop access application to be able to link to and view tables in the web access database.

I am trying to decide whether or not to upgrade to Access 2003 from 2002 but I'm having a difficult time weighing the options. Has anyone already upgraded to Access 2003? Is there much difference between the two versions or did Microsoft just apply a new GUI to 2002? I would like to develop databases and applications with Access that are ready to use as a web site backend. Is 2003 better suited to do this rather than 2002? Thanks!

I'm having trouble with the Access VBA help on my installation of A2K with Dev tools. Every time I try to retrieve help for items listed in the Object Browser (and SOME other items as well), Access tells me that the "feature is broken" and prompts me to repair it. When I do so, it goes through the motions but does NOT repair the help files. Anyone have a clue about this problem?

Hi! I have a problem with an access database. The database which I designed and made using MS access works perfectly OK on my computer however it is not working at all on computers for which it was done :) When the client tries to open first form the access shows information about error connected to the communication between Access and OLE or Active-X control. The problem is that I cannot go to the client's computer and test it because

Is this possible? I know about a bit about ODBC and found how to import an ODBC database stored on the computer, however I am after accessing an SQL database stored on a webserver. I'd like to keep it up to date, but that could probably be done with a macro. At the moment I'm just considoring possible options, so just need to know if it can be done, how easy and a rough idea of how.

I'm trying to access an access database on the file server from a web server using asp.net and IIS 6.0. I can do it when I have anonymous access enabled in IIS 6.0 as in the public internet web site style. I want to do the same with the intranet setup where IIS 6.0 is not setup to allow anonymous access. The way the intranet works is the user authenticates to the IIS 6.0 web server through group membership in an active directory domain. ...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
