If this happens with just this database, you will need to use Access 97 to
repair it before it can be converted.
1. Open the database in A97.
2. From the Tools menu, choose Database Utilities | Compact.
3. Close Access.
4. Open a command prompt and enter something like this. It's one line, and
include the quotes. Change the path as needed:
c:\Program Files\Microsoft office\office\m saccess.exe" /decompile
"c:\My Documents\MyDat abase.mdb"
Now try converting the database to the new version.
