Time calculations in Access 2000

I am trying to create a database that involves time calculation (elapsed
time). I have set up several tables and one is for "Time Card" entry. I
cannot figure out how to calculate the elapsed time between Start Time
and End Time in Query.

Please help this is for my boss.

The Datadiff function will do some of the work for you.

x = Datediff("s",st arttime, endtime) will give the difference in seconds.
You can then do the divisions to get hours , mins and secs.

e.g x mod 60 gives you the number of secs
x\60 gives the total number of minutes
etc

But to do this in a query would give some unmanageable expressions, so you
are better off creating a function to do it.

I previously posted this question under Visual Basic newsgroup, but was advised to re-post here. I'm hoping someone can help me solve an issue I'm having with VB.Net and Access 2000. Here's the issue. I hope I've included all relevant information. On a form, I have a DateTimePicker with the following

Hi, I`m trying to do date calculations in three types of time zones: local, GMT and specified. The issue I am facing is that I need to be able to specify a date in the proper time zone, and I`m having a heck of a time doing so. I have created a form where I use drop downs do specify year, month, date, hour, minute and seconds. When the form is loaded, the dropdowns have to display the proper values for the current time zone type. This

I have searched this group, and am not finding the answer I am looking for -- hope you can help. I have a front-end MS Access database hooked via a MyODBC link to a MySQL database. A modified date is going into the database. Need to be able to perform calculations on the dates in order for newly added notes to show up in bold on a report.

Hi, I've been coming up against a failure of a report to display the result of a simple calculation. I have realised that this calculation cannot take place unless the field I am working on is displayed or is some way referred to in the report. am I right in this? It seems odd if the field is there in the underlying query. Is this right? Is there a way round?

Thanks for all the responses on my first question. Unfortunately the answers I was given were too complicated for my small brain , and neophite condition to understand. So if you could talk down to me and write in easier terms I would be very gratefull to all you access wizards! Here is my problem. I have a table with maybe 10 fields, It is used to imput information taken over the phone to solve patient problems in our Spanish...

Their regular time is till 17:00 hrs and anything above that is overtime. I am using the formula DateDiff("n",,)/60. I am able to calculate the overtime if the worker finishes his work before the day ends. However , if he works untill for eg 2:00 AM , (i.e 9 hrs of...

I am trying to calculate elapsed travel times for flights. My plan is to enter the local departure time, the departure city and the local arrival time and city. These times would be standardised to GMT and a date difference calculated which would be the theoretical elapsed time of the flight I have one Table called Cities which has the name of the city and the difference from GMT eg Sydney is 10 (ie 10 hrs ahead of GMT), LA is -7 ie 7...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
