Problem: I try to store data in a objects field and read it out again.
Sounds easy, yeah. But its a bit tricky here.... ;-)
This is the class Customer.php with some setter and getter functions to
store customers data within an object.
It works.
Furthermore, it includes a synchronize method, which calls the
individual setXXX function and takes the data
from the $_POST or $_GET var.

Can I set the Format property in a date/time field in code?
Can I set the Input Mask in a date/time field in code?
Can I set the Format of a Yes/No field to Checkbox in code?
I am working on a remote update of tables and fields and can't find enough
information on these things.
Also, how do you index a field in code?

I've got a piece of code where, for all the world, it looks like this
fails in IE 6:
hometab = document.getElementById('hometab');
but this succeeds:
hometabemt = document.getElementById('hometab');
Has anyone ever seen anything like this before, or am I dreaming?

Hi,
My question is related to setting freed pointers to NULL.
After freeing a pointer:
1) Should the freeing routine also be responsible for setting the
pointer to null?
2) Or, should the client/user code be responsible for doing it?
On what basis should a decision be made favouring either case ?

Hi,
I'm using PHP 4.4.4 on Apache 2 on Fedora Core 5. PHP was installed
using Apache's apxs and the php library was installed to
/usr/local/php. However, when I set my "error_reporting" setting to be
"E_ALL", notices are still not getting reported. The perms on my file
are 664, with owner root and group root. The php.ini file is located
at /usr/local/lib/php/php.ini. Any ideas why the setting does not seem
to be having an effect? ...

The first time I enter a page, I want to set a variable once, and have that
variable retain its value from that point on. So on the first time in the
program, I set runLoc = "yes". When I then call routine validatex, the
variable retains it's value. But when I call routine validatex from the
button click event, variable runLoc is null. How can I retain the value of
runLoc permanently? thanks
Here's the complete program:

Hey,
I'm trying to wrap GNU readline with ctypes (the Python readline
library doesn't support the callback interface), but I can't figure out
how to set values to a variable inside the library. This is Python 2.5
on Linux. Here's what I have so far--if you comment out the memmove
call (3 lines) it works as expected:
# START
#!/usr/local/bin/python2.5

Hi guys,
I have an object which represents an "item" in a CMS "component" where
an "item" in the most basic form just a field, and a "component" is
effectively a table.
"item" objects can be created and then added to "component" objects to
build up the component definition.
My dilemma comes in deciding how to read/write data to the "item"

I have an asp.net/csharp application that requires a particular variable to
work properly. This variable is usually passed via a query string in the URL
when the application is first run but under certain circumstances the query
string may not contain the variable. So I need some way of establishing a
default value if one isn't set.
Is there some way I can set a query string on page_load OR is there some way
I can use a global variable...

EDIT: -- forgot to mention... I am using Visual Studio 2005, on Win XP, on an intel machine
Hi.
This is my first post, though I've "lurked" for a while because I find these forums very helpful.
Ok my problem is the following. I have a class that contains a "MakeByteArray" function.
I have many objects of that class. Inside that function, I have a private variable,
that is NOT static. It seems that when I put all these objects in...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
