XML from external link to HTML

1 New Member
I'm wondering if anyone can help me implement some code on my website...

There is an XML sheet that is being generated by another website (here)

I would like to pull off bits of this information to display on my website. (Specifically the nodes "ladder name", "match status", "opponentna me", "matchdate" and "map name") Keep in mind I have no access whatsoever to this file and cannot edit it in any way.

I've done some brief searching on XSLT, or using PHP or a JavaScript to do this type of thing, however most of the examples deal with the use of a local xml file that the user has direct access to, and at best, they are somewhat confusing or poorly explained anyways.

I'm a somewhat novice programmer, can anyone provide me with some helpful links or code that would achieve what I'm looking for?

How can I make a reference to an external CSS or JS file that is relative to the XSL stylesheet, and not relative to the XML data? If you simply put : <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="ui/demo.css" ></link> in your XSL file, this link will always be relative to the location where the XML file is. For example, suppose I have following XML data (test.xml):

Folks, I'm new to CSS and realise that by posting in the html newsgroup, I might upset one or two readers by raising a CSS question in an html newsgroup however my ISP only has one small CSS newsgroup available - I'm hoping someone here might be able to help. I have an external style sheet which I call/install from inside my head tags like so:

Just FMI, if an external stylesheet is linked to a page (with <link>), will subsequent <style> tags override the values in the external stylesheet? -- Christopher Benson-Manica | I *should* know what I'm talking about - if I ataru(at)cyberspace.org | don't, I need to know. Flames welcome.

I created an external stylesheet file 'styles.css' and an html file that includes the line: <LINK REL="stylesheet" TYPE="text/css" HREF="styles.css" Both the .css file and the html file reside on my local PC. When I open the html file with IE6 the styles are not seen in the webpage. Everything looks fine if I upload the .css and html files to my web server. Any ideas on why the styles don't appear on my local PC?

I've always linked to external stylesheets using a line like: <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" type="text/css"> I recently installed the HTMLTidy extension for Firefox and it objected to that line, saying: "Access: : Metadata missing (link element) Priority 2 Cause:

I am having 3 issues with the WebBrowser control which may all be related. The HTML for the page is the standard Weather Magnet from weather.com. The actual HTML is at the bottom of this page. Issue 1: I am opening a page in the control in the development environment and the document comes up correctly. But, when I click a link in the resulting document, an external IE instance comes up with the requested page. I have see reference to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
