Hiya
I have a problem with using some client side and server side scripting
together in an ASP. I'm using VBScript.
What I'm trying to achieve is this -
- Page loads up and some server side vbscript reads the database and
populates a listbox on the page with the first field from each record
in the recordset. This works fine.
- User selects an option on the listbox and, using the OnChange, I

Seasoned ASP Developers,
I have developed an ASP page that displays multiple rows of data with
which the user may work. As each row is updated, the graphical info
displayed immediately beside the row reflects the changes.
Fortunately, the script (although a little intensive and slow) runs
quickly enough (about 1 sec.) for updates against a single row.
The issue I am running into is that the client-side script must be run
for each and...

I having a difficult time here trying to figure out what to do here.
I need a way to scroll through a recordset and display the results
with both forward and backward movement on a web page(PHP using
ADO/COM)..
I know that if I use a client side cursor all the records get shoved
to the client everytime that stored procedure is executed..if this
database grows big wont that be an issue?..
I know that I can set up a server side cursor...

Hey all:
I know that it is silly in the age of Google to 'lose' something on the
internet, but I recently checked out a project that had implemented a
database with a subset of SQL in pure client-side javascript.
I forgot to bookmark it, and now I can't find it.
Anyone?

I am relatively new to .Net and C#, but I hav ebeen programing in other
languages and done some COM work for a number of years. I am attempting to
understand how to map an older program architecture into .Net -- not looking
to do it at this time, just to understand how I would achieve it.
In the old environment, we had two classes, a client and a server class,
that managed a data object. The server object knew how to interface with the...

I'm new to this and drowning right now. I would like to put my database
online for viewing. I managed to do the filtering but i need to do
PAGING as the XML doc get bigger. From what i understand this is what I
need to do; transform the current XML doc with the filterring xsl, then
somehow add the paging xsl. That's the part i'm having trouble with.
I'm using JavaScript to apply the filterring XSL to XML doc. Filterring
is based on what...

I know how to make client side paging work in the gridiew control using a
sqlDataSource (and it works great!). But how can I "code" this i.e. I want to
use a dataset as the datasource of the gridview.
I have a stored procedure that returns data based on what parameter is
passed in to it from the page load event of an asp.net form and then I want
to bind the gridview to this dataset. But how can I use client cide paging in
this context?

Hi everyone,
We have a need to make a Windows Forms (2.0) client application that
will be installed on our clients site.
The data that the application uses needs to be centrally available to a
potentially large number of other sites, which would seem to leave us
with our traditional approach, or having a central database server on a
dedicated server someplace.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
