Hi, there,
1. I would like to open a word document in a MDI environment. Every time, a new window outside my MDI poped out and show the word document. Is there a method I can use to specify the showing window? And how to?
2. Is there a way to preview the word document, other than load it fully?
3. How to extract all the characters in Unicode from this word document?
Thanks lot in advance!
Gary

I am trying to print a graphic file (tif) and also use the PrintPreview
control, the PageSetup control, and the Print dialog control. The code
attached is a concatination of two examples taken out of a Microsoft book,
"Visual Basic,Net Step by Step" in Chapter 18.
All but the bottom two subroutines will open a text file, and then allow me
to use the above controls, example 1. The bottom two subroutines will print
a graphic file, example...

I'm an Access noob and apologize if I'm asking a stupid question. The
problem is that I'm unable to design/preview reports on a database.
How do I go about fixing this?
Background -
A user has a database which I need to examine. This user is able
design/preview all reports on a certain database.
When I copy the database to my machine, I am unable to design/preview
reports. I am also unable to design/preview reports when I use my box...

We've been developing an application for a while which allows display of
office/pdf etc documents within an iframe in a web browser.
However, since installing office 2007 this has stopped working and instead
of them appearing nicely in the iframe they now pop up and appear within the
office program.
Does anyone know if there is a way to alter the behaviour of office 2007 so
that the documents remain embedded within the iframe, or is...

I sure hope someone else has seen this, because I'm about to go crazy!
I am unable to open Property Sheets anywhere in any of my
databases...even a brand new one. Right-click Properties brings up
nothing. Clicking the Property Sheets button in Tools brings up
nothing. The button appears to depress upon mouse-click, but doesn't
stay pressed (so I don't believe it even has focus). Now, here's the
twist....the very same database(s) on a...

Hi,
I have the following code to select a folder and then delete it. I keep
getting a Path/File error on the line that deletes the actual folder. The
line before that line deletes the files in the folder but I get the error
message when the procedure attempts to delete the folder selected in the
BrowseforFolderbyPath function.
How can I get it to delete the folder that the user has selected in the
Browse for Folder dialog?

We are currently converting from Access 2003 to Access 2007. I have
an Access app that is going to be very difficult to convert. This App
is used by people that are out in the field and are a long distance
from where our Access Databases are. So that is why we have
Replication set up. So they have a local copy that they can replicate
to our copies when they are in a high speed area. Since they have
data on their local laptop we use...

I have a question for Beth Melton.
Hello. This is Ray. I read an answer you graciously gave to another user about the constant popping up of "Windows Installer - Preparing to install". I cannot find anything to eliminate this headache and would be grateful for your insight and suggestions.
Many people suggest running something like Windows Install Clearner (not sure that's the correct name), but on the ms website about it, we are...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
