Hello,
I'm trying to get an MUI string out of the registry in display friendly
format. From what I've read, strings in the following format:
“@\dllname,-strID” are MUI strings and receive special handling via
the RegLoadMUIString API call.
This is what I have come up with for the call:

Hi,
On Friday I attended the Microsoft EVO conference in London where they
talked about Vista, Office 2007 and Exchange 2007 and how they all work
together beautifully, how they were all "people-ready" etc...
I asked a couple of questions about Visual Studio.NET on Vista, especially
on 64-bit Vista, and they became *very* nervous...
To cut a long story short, Microsoft will not support ANY version of Visual

I tried installing my VS2005 Pro on Vista Ultimate 32 bit RTM today and got
errors stating that VS2005 was not compatible with Vista.
Microsoft......please pull your finger out of my ass and tell me this is a
joke.
It must be a joke....because I also have read that VS2002 and VS2003 will
not be supported on Vista. This clearly violates Microsoft's own terms of
support for these products.

Hi all...
Well my earlier post aboout not being able to access http://localhost has
been resolved. I am still having problems testing my Web site project.
First, thanks to Juan Libre I edited my HOSTS file and can access
localhost. However, what I found in the HOSTS file was not what I expected.
Juan mentioned that the following line might be missing.
127.0.0.1 localhost

Even though I had my roots and highlights redone just a few days ago, I
don't understand why I appear to be having an ongoing blond moment.
Is it just me or do others among you not 'get' how to make C# and VB.Net
applications play nicely with the the UAC on Vista.
I have read and reread everything I can find on UAC, 'strong-naming' of
assemblies, 'authenticode signing' of assemblies and, even though I'm not

When there is a shortcut of our app on the desctop, the app is not run until
all the security in control panel of win vista is cleared. What to do to not
have this problem. We do not want to tell the customers to do this.

The application is a WinForm application which will invoke the Web
Services host in the same development machine, the WSE policy is setup
properly and it is configure to use usernameForCertificateSecurity
policy. Same application work in WinXP with IIS5, but not work in

I've been struggling with an issue that I hope you can comment on or
provide suggestions to. Our .NET 2.0 (VS2005) based product is
crashing (when the user selects a particular feature on the UI) on
Vista. It works fine on XP. In a nutshell:
- user makes a selection on the UI

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
