Due to an earlier posting I read in this newsgroup regarding Office 2007
beta, I downloaded it. After I DL'd it, I got an invitation from MS to
get WinVista.
I am now wondering if, since both are betas, it is best to buy a new
computer? My current computer setup is a Pentium 4, 1 gig memory, 2.66
ghz, 60-80 gig disk drive.
MS's requirements for a WinVista computer is

I'm writing an application in C# (VS2003 currently) and I've got a new
requirement to sync files to an MTP device. I can't seem to find a
component (either COM or .NET) which I can use for MTP. Can someone
push me in the right direction?
Thanks

To demonstrate my problem, I have a very simple VB Windows application. It
has a text box that is used to display a counter, a button to reset the
counter, and a timer that increments the counter every second.
I remote desktop to the computer hosting this application and run the
application. It starts up and displays the counter incrementing every
second. If I disconnect the network cable between the two computers for 10
seconds and...

Good Day Folks,
We have an .net 2.0 application that has been working reasonably well
in windows xp, we have installed our application on windows vista
business and have noticed a significant performance decrease in the
application.
Is this expected with Vista? has anyone else experienced the same
problem with their applications since migrating to Vista?

I wrote a VB application for a friend's laptop. Originally, it was installed
on an XP OS.
He has since purchased a new laptop with Vista installed and has installed
my VB application.
I have a newer version of the application which I would like to install, but
the currently installed application does not appear in the Add/Remove
utility in Vista.
Any idea on how I can remove the old version?

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
