I have an unusual error occurring when sending email from an ASP.NET
page. Basically, the first attempt at sending an email fails, whilst
subsequent attempts succeed without any issues. The code looks like
this:
MailMessage msg = new MailMessage();
msg.From = "testdotnet@myaddress.com";
msg.To = "bondo@myaddress.com";
msg.Body = "Testing Mail";
msg.BodyFormat = MailFormat.Text;

I'm having a credentialing problem in my web application. Actually, I don't
think this is an IIS security issue, since I'm able to access the page I'm
requesting. However, the executing page itself is not able to access a
specific network resource and I just can't figure out why. First of all, let
me say this worked fine with IIS running on Win2000 Server. This has not
worked since I upgraded to Windows Server 2003.
My Platform: Windows...

I have an application that I am working on with 2 other developers. The
applciation uses Remoting for our calls to SQL Server. We have been
developing and testing against our development machines (win XP), and
remoting is working fine, but yesterday we attempted to install our
application on our shared server and we keep getting 401 - Not Authorized
errors whenever a remoting call is made. To get the application to the
server, we got...

Dear Sir
I have a created a Web Service that uses ShDocVw.Dll and
Microsoft.mshtml.dll for IE automation. For the development I am using VS
2005 installed on Windows 2000 Professional System. In my application, I use
IE instance to navigate to certain site. This application runs fine on the VS
Development server but when I deploy it on Windows 2003 server, my IE
instance is unable to navigate to the specified page. However if I specify...

Hello all,
I'm running into a problem with one of our site's production web
applications that was written in VB.net. The web app is running on
W2K3/IIS6 and up until this afternoon, was working just fine. The
application calls a web service that exists as an application under the main
application's root directory, and it looks as though this is where the
application dies. The UI returns "The request failed with HTTP status 400:
Bad...

I have opened a PMR for this with IBM, and am not asking for advice from the DB2 DBA community. I am posting this as an FYI that DB2 Health Monitor, even at the latest version of DB2, still can cause huge problems with slow connect times and heavy resource locking in high concurrency / high transaction volume environments. I have an OLTP with 30-90 transactions per second activity, and start of Health Monitor every 2 hours was crashing our...

I am self hosting a Web Service in a Windows service. I am trying to start
the service using the NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService account.
I get a NullReferenceException on ServiceHost.Open() in the
ServiceBase.OnStart() method. SCM throws a 1067 error as well.
I get the same problem with NT AUTHORITY\LocalService.
When I use the LocalSystem account, my domain account, or another regular
user account, the windows service starts just fine.

Hi all,
I am having a DB2 connectivity problem that I hope someone can help me resolve. I need this to test Replication and such other things. What am I doing wrong here? Any help that
I can get will be highly appreciated.
First, the error that I am getting when I try to connect to the remote host after performing NODE and database catalog is the following:
SQL1336N The remote host "WINSVR2008R2-2" was not found. SQLSTATE=08001. I...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
