I don't know any tool which certainly works with Vista, but you could always use Knoppix - it's a live Linux CD which contains a program called "Qtparted". This is similar to Partition Magic, but it's free and doesn't care about what OS you run normally.

You can just resize it with that. Note however that no such resizing software is perfect - there's always the risk of loosing data, so if possible you should save any important data before you attempt to do this.

Greetings,

y not use Shrink option of Vista itself? Just go to disk management, right click on C: (ur current parition, i believe), click Shrink. Enter value to shrink (in mb, that ll be the size of the new partition to create). it ll create unallocated space. Right click it n format it as NTFS or FAT32 or anythg u want.

I'd heard and believed that Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 would be shipped with Windows Vista(Longhorn). Not as an 'additional' component, but, you know, already installed so that developers don't have to nag their users to download and install .NET Framework Redistributable. Recently, I heard that it will NOT shipped with Windows Vista. Is it true?

MS's requirements for a WinVista computer is A modern processor (800mz)

After having worked with Apache/MySQL/PHP for a year or so under Linux I need, purely for convenience, to set up a parallel platform under Windows. Unfortunately, since I last did this (using Windows XP Pro) I've moved on to Windows Vista (Home Premium). MySQL and Apache2 have both installed satisfactorily, but I'm having problems with PHP5. I downloaded the PHP5 Windows installer (the .msi file) for 32-bit Windows, which is supposed...

Hi, I have to develop an application which must run on .net 2.0 on a Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista Business OS. Is .net 2.0 supported at Windows Vista? If I see the supported OS at the download page of microsoft, Windows Vista is not in the list. Are there risks for strange behavior under Windows Vista? TIA, Frank

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
