Hello,
I have build a program that can do file transferring between a Windows
XP computer and a DOS computer via a serial port. The Windows program

Turbo C++ 3.0.
At this moment I am in a test phase of sending files and directories.
The code I am using in DOS to open a file for writing looks like this
(forgive me the typos, since I only have my source code at work...

I am using the following link to download a file of about 50k
<a target= "_blank"
href="http://www.bsecs.org.uk/ExecDocs/documentStore/elfridaWord.doc">open
file</a>
If I save the file to hard disk there is no problem/
if, in response to the menu which appears before downloading, I opt to
open the doc file immediately then I get a problem.

I have been developing a suite of assemblies over the past couple of weeks,
and this afternoon somethign started misbehaving.
If I do not run the IDE and compiler the code from the command line, the
compilation seems to work properly almost all of the time. More on this
later.
If I launch one copy of the IDE, then I can usually compile the project at
least once. At some point, the build fails reporting "Could not copy
temporary files...

Dear all,
sorry, i know this code is far little too long to debug here, but there is
really annoying logical error. If someone debugs this, I really offer warm
virtual handshake.
What this code SHOULD do:
- read new (=updated) licensetext from file $license_path
then
- read and modify recursively all files from $current_dir, replacing old

Hi,
I'm experiencing a strange problem with .mdb files.
We have two buildings connected by optical fiber (a single LAN).
Everything works perfect with any file, any size, any application
software. The hardware has been tested several times. Viruses, trojans
and so on: clean for sure.
The problem is that .mdb files (_only .mdb files_) often don't open,
are very slow, or even get crashed and corrupted.
The weird is that even copying them...

I'm using the zipfile library to read a zip file in Windows, and it
seems to be adding too many newlines to extracted files. I've found
that for extracted text-encoded files, removing all instances of '\r'
in the extracted file seems to fix the problem, but I can't find an
easy solution for binary files.
The code I'm using is something like:
from zipfile import Zipfile
z = Zipfile(open('zippedfile.zip'))

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
