"Open .Net Command Window Here" context menu for Windows Explorer: The reg file described below adds a new menu item to Windows Explorer's context menu when you right-click over a folder (or the drive root). The menu item text is "Open .Net Command Window Here". When you click it, it opens a command window positioned at that directory and runs the vsvars32.bat file to set the .Net Framework environment variable settings. This makes it...

I have created a "Send To" application that allows users to rename files. The user selects files in Windows Explorer, right clicks and selects Send To > File Renamer. The problem is when a large number of files are selected, the app gives an error that says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file". I am currently testing on Windows XP. I have been able to reproduce the problem with an "empty" command line application...

This request might belong in a "SQL"-related newsgroup, but it's such a pain using Agent to subscribe to a new group (and download its 50,000 messages!) just to ask one question. So, since it deals with an ASP.NET app, I thought I'd ask here. ============================================== I am using Web Data Adminstrator, which I downloaded recently from the Microsoft site. I get an error when I create tables or columns:

Hey everyone, I have a textbox in my web page that is going to be used to enter an E-mail into (just plain text, no HTML). Now, this will interact with a SQL database where the contents of the textbox are sent from the SQL database to the textbox, then the user edits it, and then the text inside the textbox is sent back to the SQL database. I did it the same way as if i had used a VarChar instead of a type "text" variable in the SQL...

Hi all, I'm trying to send a message from ASP.NET to another PC by using MSMQ. I created my ASP.NET project by using Visual Studio 2005 but I initially set the project to be located on the File System. Then I could successfully send, receive and purge the public queries I use to exchange information with the another PC. But when I realized I can not reach the file system created project from a third PC then I recreated the project as...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
