Hello,
We have a database in MS SQL 2000 and I'm trying to link to it from MS
Access XP. I've created a user with full access to one specific table
in the MS SQL database, but Access won't write to it.
I can open this table in MS Query Analyzer and log-in as the user, and
I can do update, delete, and select queries just fine... but when I
link to the table from MS Access using the same MS SQL
username/password, I can only read the...

I could NOT stop laughing at the stupidity of the ad -- "Let your ideas run

exactly so so so Microsoft. Re-invent the dev tools every 3-5 years in the
name of progress and hope developers don't notice -- good revenue generation

Hello all
Would it be possible to migrate the MS Access 2000 to MS SQL Server
2000?
My application is using MS Access 2000 as database and as user
interface such as forms. Now, I want to migrate the backend database
from MS Access 2000 to MS SQL Server 2000. However, I want to keep the
MS Access 2000 interface. Would it be possible?

I hope someone can solve my problem here.
I am currently working/programming a website using Debian Linux + Perl
+ PHP + PostgreSQL + Apache.
Some data in the postgreSQL server must be updated from a Microsft
Access database once a week.
The Micorosft Access database is running on a Windows NT 4 platform.

Hi to all!
A customer of mine told me some days ago that her IT-people told her
ACCESS would not be such a good idea for continuing with our project,
because Access will not be continued in the future. I haven't heard of
this. Does anybody know more about it?
The IT-People usually prefer Oracle. If they really want to go in this
direction, could our Access-application (if continued) be used as a
front end with an Oracle back end? Does...

SQL Server will be used as the back-end database to a non trivial client
application.
In question is the choice of client application:
I need to be able to speak intelligently about when one client (MS Access vs
..NET Windows Forms) would be preferred over the other. While I have some
good arguments on both sides, I would appreciate your points of view on the
topic.

So, I thought I'd tool up to let me build and test Python extensions on
Windows (as well as Mac and Linux) -- I'm trying out Parallels
Workstation beta on my new Macbook Pro (and so far it seems to work very
well), I bought and installed a Win2000 Pro on it (since according to
the grapevine it works better than XP in various kinds of virtual
machines, and almost all SW supports w2k anyway -- I also found out that
one exception is the...

Hi!
I downloaded MS Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition, MS .NET
Framework SDK v2.0, and MS SQL Server 2005. Subsequently, I bought MS
Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition.
1) Are both the MS Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition and the
MS Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition used to develop .ASP
applications?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
