Hi all
Am using WinXP and Internet Explorer 6.
I tried opening IE from quick launch toolbar. Once I clicked the icon, it asks for Open with and prompts for Internet Explorer.exe.
Whats the problem here. Though I selected that exe from that location still it asking for Open with.
But it opens If by double clicking the desktop short cut.
And all my exe files alos asks for openwith.
Like opera etc.,
If I tried opening Ms Word from start menu it shows an error that Application not found.
Whats the problem here? Are there any virus in my system? Am using Symantec 10.
Even I couldnt open Administrative tools, System Restore etc.,
Does the OS Crashed?
I run a dos command for system restore and restored to Restore Point. But I lost my data.
If it happens again how to resolve this without losing my data.
Thanks

I hpe your system got a virus and hopefully, they used to attacked the exe file. So, used some antivirus to clean the virus and if u confirm the system is attack by virus, just formate windows drive and reinstall a new window. it will be better for you.

I link to a web site from an Excel spreadsheet. The page i link to is
getCookie.asp which sets a cookie then returns back some html which opens a
new window, to the same site but a different page (same folder).
The cookie is not received. Can someone explain why?
I worked around this by adding a cache-control header with a value of
no-cache. This fixes the problem. Unfortunately that causes another
problem with Internet Explorer...

The following code opens a new window, but the "resizeTo" doesn't resize it.
Why not?
(Don't ask why I simply did not open the window with the new size....my
original problem was how to open a new window with maximized dimensions!)
FYI, I uploaded the same code to:

I have a win2003 server workstation with multiple webs, each web has it's

if I attempt to open a site under and web other than localhost I receive the

"Unable to open the Web 'http://localhost/anywebappname'. The Web

Hi,
I am trying to pop-up a window when the user clicks on an image. The
problem is that when the user clicks on the image and the window pops
up OK, but the window underneath also proceeds to the image. The
desired behavior is that when the pop-up is invoked, I want the
underlying window to stay put.
I don't have this problem when I run the code on my local computer but
I do have it when I run the code on geocities.

I have a problem of getting the error "too many files open" and would like
to trace my application. However, I have found nothing about how to display
the current number of open files. Does anyone know what code is used to get
the current number of open files?
Also, is there a way to determine the number of open database connections?

The following problem started on my PC about a week ago and I can't
link it to any specific change. I'm using Access XP.
If I have any database open and try to open any other database by
double clicking its file in Explorer, it takes about 5 seconds to open.
Previously the second database would open almost instantaneously, as
one would expect on a reasonably fast machine.

Hi,
I just found out that the general open file mechanism doesn't work
for named pipes (fifo). Say I wrote something like this and it
simply hangs python:

I have a database that raises an error when you try to open it and it
doesn't open. Trying to open the database with the OpenDatabase method
raises the same error. Trying to import any objects (tables, queies, forms,
etc) from the database raises the same error. Trying to link to the tables
in the database raises the same error. I am guessing there is an autoexec
macro or code in the open event of the opening form that contains the error....

Hi
I've a class that creates a connection to a database, gets and loop on a
dataset given a query and then close the connection. When I use netstat
viewer to see if there is any connection open left, I always see that there
are 2 connections open and in "ESTABLISHED" state. Here is the piece of code
that I'm using, please tell where I'm doing it wrong. Since this class is
being used at many placed in my actual web based application that...

This is a new problem for me: I have some queries that open very
slowly in design view.
My benchmark query takes about 20 minutes to open in design view. That
same query takes about 20 minutes to open in datasheet view. As an
experiment, I deleted all rows in all tables; after that, the query
took only seconds to open in both design view and datasheet view. From
these facts, I conclude that Access is evaluating the query when I go
to...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
