Slowness and shutting down with that message means your fan is plugged up with dust & debris (or the fan is dead). In either case, if you don't have the skills to open it, then take it to a repair shop.

I had the same problem with my laptop a few weeks ago. The best thing i can advise is to completley wipe your computer and re-install it. if this doesn't work. chances are you need more ram. i would recogmend "kingstoncomput ers". you will get the same ram but for hamf the price. Again, if this does't work. your just wasted £40 odd quid on useless ram. and however much you spend on you notebook. lol
hope that helps
Time to buy some Dust OFF and clean your laptop out. Specially if you have an old p4 inside. You might also want to open it (if you think you can do it) and blow all the dust off the heatsink and cpu fan. Also download and run a diagnostic on your pc from the manufacturer, if you could provide us with the make and model we could assist you much better.

Hi,
I use Access 2000. FEBE design. Tables on server, and everything else
on local machine. I have 1 table with a primary key ID field and a
text field with names in it. This table is like a translator. I have a
form that gets a text field from another table with numbers seperated
by commas. The form translates this using the translator table and a
module. So like 99,34,23, will be translated to bob, mary, tom,. Again,
99 34 and 23 are from...

I have an Access 2000 application that has a backend database which
sits on the network and a frontend installed to each PC.
When the frontend is opened, users have to log on and then the
database opens their menu form with buttons for key activities.
The problem I am having is that the user is logging on then there is a
delay before the menu form opens (normally this is really fast) and
then the application freezes - they can't push...

my DataGridview contains 4 columns and 3245 rows.
when AutoSizeRowsMode is set to "ColumnsAllRows", it freezes the application.
Initially i thought it was slow, but i went to take a poop and came back,
and control still has not returned.
with this property set to "None", all those rows load immediately.

Dear All,
I have upgraded and application I developed on VB6 which uses the
Mscomm1 component and reads from COM1 port data send, then sends these
records to a table in SQL 2000. I upgraded the application to VB.Net windows
form to use the try catch method of trapping errors, the form runs smoothly
but after about 10 minutes the form freezes without raising any error.
Any hints will be useful.

I'm running this on a 2.8 GHz machine with 1.5 GB RAM. (XP machine)
The full suite of VS.NET is installed. I'm running 7.1.3088
Professional Edition.
Initial launch from within IDE took only seconds, but my system froze
almost immediately, and required reboot.
Now, launching from within the IDE is very slow -- 5 minutes -- with
CPU usage maxed out the entire time. And once application is running,
the system goes weird -- task bar...

Hi!
For a few months we suffer mysterious problem with Oracle 10g RAC (more
details on server configuration at the bottom). At regular basis (every 5
minutes) nodes of our cluster "freeze" - during couple of seconds
operating system for some mysterious reason does nothing - as far as we're
concerned - in userspace. Every single userspace process stops for this
period. After a few seconds system comes back to life and all suspended...

When I open a webpage with javascript my browser (both IE6 and
FF2.0.0.3) freezes anywhere from seconds to more than a minute. During
that period, the browser is frozen and windows (XP-SP2) is very poorly
responsive. There is no significant CPU-load.
When I disable javascript in FireFox, everything works smoothly
again.
I have uninstalled MS javascript and SUN javascript, however,
javascript is still being executed (when enabled in...

Hi guys,
I'm attempting to run a query that I made and it is running way too slow. Everything seems to work fine until I add in a table (dbo_INIH) and a field from that table (TAKBY). The reaction I get when I add those fields is weird. Within 2 minutes the first page of the query will show, which is normal for my queries. I suppose Access decided that it will be easier to show the first page and then load the rest of the records, so at this...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
