I just aquired a used computer (Windows XP) with many, many EX. files in it.
I keep getting the message: "Windows must know where the file came from before it can be opened". (Wording is very close) I have the option of going online to see if windows can locate the origin of the file, but it never can. Boy, would I love some help on this.
Thanking you in advance,

are you talking about executable files? and when did you start noticing this, what changes did you make to your system that forced this to occur?

I've got an intranet application that presents a list of files in sort of a
'central repository' web page. Each file is an href in the form <a
href=file://server/share/path/filename.ext>.
When the user clicks on an excel file, it is opening within the browser,
which unforntuntely confuses the heck out of them because the usual
Print/Print Preview menu options are not available. I would like the user

Hello, and thank toy for reading this post.
Thus far, this website has helped me a lot,
(I have finally finished my encryptor: "site removed by moderator", go to the downloads link) and I will continue asking for help (so my rank may finally increase).
Right now the topic at hand for me is opening file dialogs. Right now, the issue at hand is opening up a fully functional G.U.I. file prompt (both for opening and saving files please) that has...

Background:
Since Microsoft’s security update 896358, security update 840315 or Windows
Server 2003 Service Pack 1, you can not longer open and see topic content in
help files on the network. This is true even for files in shared folders on
local intranet and even if the user has enough previliges to open the help
file it self. This is because help files indirectly could open active content
that is placed in some other unsecure...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
