closing multiple opened windows

553 Contributor
Hi

Is there a way to close many opened window with a single command.

For example, you might have 10s of notepads opened.

how can we close all opened notepads together instead of closing each one by one?

Thanks
Qi

if you are using XP, usually when you have many of the same program open, in the taskbar it will group them, and then you can close the group; resulting in everything being closed

yes, XP will group them for you..

(or if there is a software, you can use that)

I have an MDI application which opens a number of child windows, each of which could have data in a state that needs to be saved. Each child window catches its Closing event and cancels it if the user wants to save the data, but when the Application closes this event isn't thrown automatically. I added a loop to close each child window, but can't seem find how to catch the child window's cancel of the Closing event, so even if the user...

I get a Null Reference Exception if I close a non-modal dialog (that is, a form opened with Show()) when a selection is made from a ComboBox. The error message refers to Unsafe Native Methods, but the code is 100% managed. The exception is not thrown if the dialog was modal (opened with ShowDialog()) or if the selection is made from, say, a ListBox. I have included a simple example below. I am using C#.NET 2003, Standard Edition.

For some reason, when I click the X to close my MDI parent form, the action appears to be re-directed to one of the MDI child forms, and the parent remains open. I am then unable to close the application. What should happen, is that the main MDI form should close, taking the child forms with it. There is code to loop through the child forms, remove the controls on each of them, and then close the form, but this code should execute only...

I know how to write code to find, kill and closeMainWindow on all processes but I really don't want to do that. I want work with applications not processes. As you know there are a lot more processes running than applications and many processes are critical to Windows running. For instance right now Task Manger show 3 applications running on my computer but maybe 40 processes. How can I do this?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
